Meredith L. Simon

The memorial service for Meredith Simon will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 24, 2012 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Stewartville, MN with the Rev. Matthew Fasnacht officiating. Burial will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Tuesday March 27,2012 at 11:35 a.m. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday.

Meredith Louise Simon, 75, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at Stewartvilla Apartments in Stewartville.

Meredith was born to Jack and Augusta Wibben on June 17, 1936 in Britt, Iowa and her family moved to southeastern Minnesota when she was a child.  She graduated from Stewartville High School. She married Ted Simon on April 11, 1955 and the couple moved to Fargo, ND, eventually returning to Austin, MN, where Ted worked as a federal meat inspector.  They continued to live in Austin until the fall of 2002, when Ted and Meredith moved to Menomonie, WI until the summer of 2006, when they returned to Minnesota and Meredith lived out her remaining days at Stewartvilla.

Meredith is survived by four daughters; Chris Floyd (Tom) of Stewartville, MN, Cindy Simon of Montrose, CO, Karen Simon of Minneapolis, MN and Mary Rademaker (Mike)  of Menomonie, WI; three sons, Greg Simon [Jeni]  of Richfield, MN, Joe Simon (Michele) of Troutdale, OR and Tony Simon (Dixie) of Spokane, WA;  10 grandchildren, Andy Simon, Alexis Simon, Ashley Weis, Ben Weis, Bryce Simon, Gabby Simon, Ian Floyd, Katrina (Ben) Wheeler-Floyd, Logan Simon and Veronica Curren; two sisters, Janice (Larry) Billman of Chatfield and Sandy (Dallas) Gardner of Chatfield; three brothers, Curtis (Linda) Wibben of Stewartville, Louis Wibben of Stewartville and Ron (Marion) Wibben of Stewartville.

Meredith enjoyed raising and riding horses, country living, reading, sewing, games, her family and her many friends at Stewartvilla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, her parents and one sister, Angie (Bill) Brauman of  Biloxi, MS.

Memorials are requested to the American Heart Association or American Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
