The memorial service for Maureen Ellen Tisdell will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2013 in River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, with Rev. Paul Nelson officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at River Park Chapel, and one hour before the service at the funeral home on Friday.
Miss Tisdell, 80, of Rochester, Minnesota, died of heart complications Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.
Maureen was born April 8, 1933 in Mankato, MN. to Francis and Helen Gegan Tisdell. She went to one room country school in Olivia, MN., and graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Bird Island, MN. She received a business degree from Rochester Junior College, and worked in the hospitality industry for many years.
Survivors include her daughter Jamie (Mark) Hein of Wayzata; two grandsons Nicklaus and Zachary Hein both of Wayzata; a brother Robert (Pat) Tisdell of Hastings, MN.; two sisters Helen Gove of New Brighton, MN. and Elizabeth Tisdell of St. Paul, MN. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Lois Tisdell of Prior Lake, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers John Tisdell, Patrick (Darlene) Tisdell, Michael (Patricia) Tisdell, William Tisdell, sister Alice Ann Tisdell, and brother-in-law Gilbert Gove.
Maureen was a past member of St. Francis Of Assisi Catholic Church in Rochester. She loved to travel and watch sports, especially tennis. She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren. She was very active in clinical studies at the Mayo Clinic, and donated her body to the Mayo Clinic for medical research.
Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association.
