Mary Esther Siemens

Mary Esther Siemens, 87, of Rochester, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at Seasons Hospice surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was a California girl who married an Iowa farm boy. She was a beloved and devoted wife and mother to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was also a loving and dedicated friend to so many. Mary loved to cook and bake and share her goods with family, friends and neighbors. She had a beautiful soprano voice and blessed us with that special gift throughout her life at church, community choir, and special gatherings. Mary had the ability to brighten people’s day and make people feel special by the cards she sent with messages of love, encouragement and blessings. Mary dedicated her life to humbly serving the Lord and others. She taught Sunday school and lead the children and adults in worship for most of her life. The element of love and compassion Mary had was evident in the way she cared and supported those in need. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and hospice services for decades. She is now at peace resting in the arms of her Savior and hearing those special words: “well-done, my good and faithful servant.”

Mary is survived by her husband, Bernard Siemens of Rochester; daughters, Jane (Mike) Geiser of Rochester, Connie (Asmer) Naim of Rochester, and sons, Thomas (Carol) Siemens of Coon Rapids, Michael (Lori) Siemens of Swannanoa, NC.; grandchildren Jacob, Rachel, Jenny, Selena, Kumail, Rafiya, Saniya, Jeremiah, Kaysha, Hannah, Abigail, Moriah; and fourteen great-grandchildren with more on the way.
Due to the ongoing health crisis, there will be no services held. Memorials can be made to Seasons Hospice of Rochester or Channel One Food Bank of Rochester.

Dear Bernie,

I just learned of your loss. I am so, so sorry. You two sure had a good long life together.

Leon, Scott (Anderson, my husband) and I  were just wondering how you were doing. And with technology these days, I decided to see if I could locate you and then came across Mary's obituary.

The world needs more people like Mary and you.

So so fond of you because of how kind you were to me.

So  sorry to hear about Mary. I worked with Mary years ago when she was a Nursing Assistant at Mille Lacs Health System - she was wonderful. She was part of the team, we had the best crew in those days, and she taught all of us how to care about others. I know she is missed.

Dear Uncle Bernie and Cousins,

We are so sorry to hear of Aunt Mary's death. She was much loved by all. Our hearts go out to you at this time of grief, but also a time of rejoicing of her entrance into Heaven. We have fond memories of a Minnesota visit and family gatherings over the years.

Take care, Terry and Marilyn Siemens

I worked with Mary at the Mille Lacs Nursing home many years ago while I was going to college.   We worked weekends, holidays and summers together.  Hardly a day went by that she wasn't offering a form of encouragement regarding the furthering of my education.  Mary was my personal cheerleader!  A wonderful lady.  We are all better people, thanks to Mary!

Bernie and family. Our hearts ache for you at the passing of Mary. Mary was an amazing woman. We feel we have lost an angel on earth. Mary was a loving and accepting to all. She was special friend to my mom at Arbor Terrace. We were so fortunate to had met her on our life journey. Prayers for your family. Love, Jo Brueckman and daughter Janice.

I am so sorry for your family's loss.  I will miss seeing Mary at church.

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Mary, she was a great person, she was a Mom to many other than her own! Remember all the good she brought to all !!

Thinking of you all during these hard times  !
