Mary Anna Colton

Mary Anna Colton died peacefully Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Saint Marys Hospital following a brief illness.

Mary Anna was the beloved mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother of Chris, Mike and Jerry Kuhn and Cindy Brooke.  She was 85 years old.  She was born September 8, 1927 to John and Lucy Rosen in Perham, Minnesota.  She married Herb Miller in 1951 and they raised two daughters, Chris Kuhn of Rochester, and Cindy Brooke of Dallas,TX.  Herb died in 1977.  She married Gene Colton in 1978, and they retired together to Condon, Oregon where they lived until Gene’s death in 2007.  Mary Anna moved to Rochester in 2008.  She enjoyed her home community and dear friends at Woodridge Apartments and membership at Trinity Lutheran Church, Rochester.  Mary Anna was an avid seamstress and ferocious reader.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, granddaughter Jennifer Kuhn, and brother Edward Rosen.

She is survived by her daughters, grandson Jerry Kuhn of Rochester, and brother Walter Rosen of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

 

Viewing will be held in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home on Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 4-6 pm.  A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Friday, November 9, 2012 at Woodridge Apartments, 2804 2nd Street S.W. in Rochester.  Interment will be with her beloved Gene and her parents in Condon, OR.

Memorials are suggested to the American Red Cross.
