Condolences
The family of Marven O. Askildson has received the following condolences.
Thank you so much for letting those of us on the west coast know about Uncle Marven. We are so grateful you remembered us. My sister Rose also sends her love & condolences. She & I are the only remaining children of Art's as Jerry went home to be with the Lord in May of 2007. Our mom, Jane (Cox, Askildson, Olson) Eder, went home prior to Jerry in Oct of 2002. Uncle Marven is greatly loved as he was good to call me once in awhile & sent me Christmas cards every year. He made me feel as though I was still part of the family even though I couldn't get back there to visit as often as I would have loved too. The last time we spoke on the phone he told me how bad his heart was & that he did not want to go through another surgery. We lovingly said our good byes & he said he'd see me in heaven. It was wonderful to know that he loves the Lord too. My love to all of you & please keep in touch. Thank you!

Dear Marven,
From where you are, I just wanted to tell you that I very much enjoyed the 12 years I got to know you. You welcomed me in the family right away and I am thankful for this too. I am also so happy that you had the opportunity to be there for some very important events in my/our family's life, such as Lance and I getting engaged, our beautiful wedding in Rochester, and the birth of our beloved son, Samuel. It's so great that Sam has had the chance to know his great-grandfather :-)
Lots of love to your beloved wife Dorothy and to all of you in the Askildson family :-)
Virginie

I'm saddened to hear of Marvin's passing away. It's been a long time since I've seen Marvin but I remember him as being a tough, hardworking and highly skilled carpenter. I know from my close friendship with his son Rick that he was a good dad and he loved his family unconditionally. My sincere sympathies for my friend Rick and all of Marvin's family. Rest in peace Marvin.

We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Marven. We were lucky enough to have him and Robert help with the completion of our main floor family room. It's our favorite room in our home thanks to their help. Dave also had the pleasure to do some car repair for him too. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very difficult time. Our deepest sympathies to you all...sending hugs your way

I'm sitting here thinking about dad,how he was always there for me.I wasn't a easy son to raise either, between smashing up vehicles and getting in trouble with the law.He always had something he would say to me that I will never forget,"Rick what in the SAM!!!!HELL!!!!IS!!!!THE!!!!MATTER!!!!WITH!!!!YOU".
I think it is a little ironic that his great grandsons name is Sam.
I'm sure going to miss dad.
To the Askildson family;
Please accept our sympathies for Marven's passing. He always seemed like such a gentle soul. I'm sure he'll be missed, but with his discomfort, he's in a better place.
Hugs for everyone.
Best regards, Tim, Crystal, Drew, Alexander and Geffan
We are sorry to hear about Uncle Marvin's passing. We'll keep you in our prayers going forward during this difficult time. Uncle Marvin was just a great guy ... it was always good to get to talk to Uncle Marvin & Aunt Dorothy and the family on the phone. Was grateful to get to see everyone at Uncle Marvin & Aunt Dorothy's house in the mid 1990's.
I am sorry to hear of Marven's journey coming to an end. I truly enjoyed our visits at the Northeast Clinic, and he will be missed. He was a kind man with a huge heart~~I enjoyed hearing the stories he shared of you, his family. One that I can remember is a day of fishing with a few of his grandchildren; know that he was happy he got to share that time with you. His eyes lit up when he talked about you. May God provide the peace you need in the upcoming days ahead. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
