Mark M. Wadsworth

Mark Wadsworth passed away peacefully at his home following a courageous battle with Multiple Mylomea on March 16, 2012. Mark was born on October 21, 1958 in Olivia Village, Minnesota, the son of Leonard and Violet (Butcher) Wadsworth.

They moved to Rochester when Mark was a young boy where he attended Kellogg Junior High School and John Marshall High School. Mark ultimately graduated from Primerton High School in New Jersey.

He entered the US Army in 1982 where he served four years active duty, fourteen years in the Army National Guard. He was employed by the Kahler and Sunstone Properties for Eighteen Years. He worked part time for SL Contracting as a truck driver. Mark was employed in the Rochester Public Schools System at Lincoln K-8 Choice School as a Custodial Engineer until his illness.

Mark enjoyed traveling with his wife Pam, boating, fishing and watching the Vikings. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and Buck, his dog.

Mark is survived by Pam, his wife of thirteen years, a daughter Tina Wadsworth of North Loop Nebraska, a step-daughter Kris (John) Bontrager and a step-son Jeff Lane both of Rochester, five grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are two brothers, Leon Wadsworth of Rochester, Keith (Carol) Wadsworth of Philadelphia, PA, five sisters, Wanda (Edd) Knutson-Chilson of Chatfield, MN, Teresa Wadsworth of Rochester, and Sharon (Tom) Bury of Glendale Heights, IL, Laurie Long of Oronco, MN, and Lisa Wadsworth of Glendale Heights, IL.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter Kathryn.

A special thank-you is extended to family, friends, and Mayo Hospice for their care and support.

A Funeral Service for Mark will be held at 10:30AM on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Grandville Memorial Gardens.
