Mark Daniel Schnell

Mark Daniel Schnell, 51, of Rochester passed away peacefully of natural causes on November 28, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus.

Mark was born on August 17, 1967 in Rochester to Daniel and Diane Schnell. He graduated from Mayo High School in 1985. He attended University of Wisconsin Steven’s Point for two years. Upon returning to Rochester, he worked at IBM. In 1995, he met Deanna Gosse. They were married on March 31, 2007. In 1998, Mark began working for Gopher Distributing (later Northern Distributing) in Rochester. Mark “bled purple” and was a devoted MN Vikings fan. He loved spending time with family, camping, campfires, and was a true “jokester”, making many people laugh throughout his life. He will be truly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Deanna; two sons, Austin and Nicholas, all of Rochester; two step-daughters, Heather and Rebecca Evenson, both of Wabasha; his brothers, Jeff Schnell and Mike (Tracy) Schnell, both of Byron; and grandchildren, Rilynn, Mackenzie, Oaklyn, August, and Thomas.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral service for Mark will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening, December 7, 2018 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in Oakwood East Cemetery in Rochester.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be written to the family.

Condolences

The family of Mark Daniel Schnell has received the following condolences.

Offering my condolence to the family and friends of Mark Schnell.  No doubt Mark will be sadly missed yet fondly remembered.

As you cherish the many memories, reflect on the time when sickness, death & sorrow will be conditions of the past! (Revelation 21:3,4; 1Corinthians 15: 26) This is what our loving God Jehovah has promised & Jesus Christ himself guaranteed the hope of seeing our loved ones again by means of the resurrection. (John 5:28,29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 26:19)

May God’s word & the prayers of others provide you comfort at this time & each day to come, as we await the fulfillment of his promises!

Mark,

I sit here today still in total disbelief of your passing.  From our days at Kellogg and then graduating at Mayo (Class of 85'), thank you for bringing so much laughter into every day life.  You made friends with so many people because you simply loved life.  I found it fitting that you had a camp site at Jellystone in Warrens, WI.  "The happiest place on earth".  That was you.  Thank you for your high school friendship.  It was great to circle back around when our son's played football together at Century for a couple years.  May you forever Rest in Peace Mark and thank you for being you.  God Bless you and your family.  Peace my friend!

My condolences to the Schnell family.

It's been a long time since seeing Mark. His impression will be everlasting.

God Bless

Mark, a neighbor boy, we watched grow up.  Cuter than a bugs ear!  A smile you’d never forget.  He always remembered you, always had a kind word or two. He left us too young and will be missed.  Hopefully your good memories and good times that you did have with him will help you through your grief.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss! You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers!

Jeff, Mike, and Tracy

My family and I extend are condolences to you and your children Abby. Jack, Rylie, and Payton and recognize the loss of your brother and uncle.  May you find peace.

Sarah

Deanna and family, I'm so sorry to hear about this.  Melissa told me what a great guy he was.  Sounds like you have lots of friends and family to help you remember the good times.
