Marjorie L. McAllister

On Friday May 14, 2010, Marjorie L. McAllister passed away from emphysema at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. Marjorie was born on July 25, 1935 to Roy and Ethel Murphy in Rochester, Minnesota. She married Richard McAllister November 1, 1962 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Rochester. Richard died May 9, 1983. She was a lifelong resident of the Rochester area, and worked for the Rochester School District, and Mr. McAllister was a semi-truck owner and operator. Marjorie enjoyed garage sales, and playing bingo. Marjorie is survived by two daughters, Terry (Wesley) Wilcox and Valene McAllister (Lance Wynveen), both of Rochester, and one son Bruce (Laury) McAllister of Eyota, MN. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Travis, Cole, and Joshua Wilcox, Kimberly, Bridget, and Bruce Jr. McAllister, and Samuel Wynheen.  She has three great grandchildren, Ashelyn Wilcox, Alex Johnsrud, and Xavier Wilcox.  A sister JoAnn Ness of Bethel, MN., and a brother Donnie (Sharon) Murphy of Grant, New Mexico  also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister.  A funeral service will be at 2 PM, Tuesday, May 18 at Macken Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Filbeck officiating.   Friends may call Monday May 17, 2010, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday.  Burial will be in Marion Cemetery, in Marion Minnesota.
