Marilyn A. Lideen

Marilyn A. Lideen, 81, of Rochester, died on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Seasons Hospice after a lengthy illness.

Marilyn was born July 22, 1937 to Fred and Della (Karpinski) Peters in Minneapolis, MN. She graduated from Canby High School. She married John Lideen on January 20, 1957 in Canby, MN. They moved to Rochester in 1962. Marilyn was a surgical technician at the Worrell Hospital in Rochester. She then took time off to raise her family. In 1973, she worked as a retail sales consultant at Dayton’s Department Store where she worked for 25 years.

She was a member of Zumbro Lutheran Church and volunteered at Mayo Clinic. Marilyn was known for her chocolate chip cookies. She was kind and compassionate and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed keeping everyone in the family well dressed. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, John; children, Jamey (Karen) Lideen of Chetek WI, and Tammy Adams of Rochester; grandchildren, Daniel Lideen (Randy Brisk), Sarah (Scott) Maier, Bryan Adams, and Dylan Adams; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Parker Maier; brother, Dennis (Inge) Peters of Rochester; three nieces, Mary Aakre, Rhonda Jones, and Sheri Engberg; and nephew, Jim Peters. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Deanna; brother, Alan; niece, Cheryl; and nephew, Dennis.

Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society, and Zumbro Lutheran Church.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 14th at Zumbro Lutheran Church with Rev. Lisa Kipp officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
