Plemling will be at 10:30 Friday June 24, 2016 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Rochester with Rev Paul Nelson officiating.   Visitation will be held from 5:00- 8:00Pm Thursday June 23 in the River Park chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.

Marie, 82, of St. Paul, MN, formerly of Rochester, died early Sunday morning (June 19, 2016) at the Cerenity Marian Residence of St. Paul.

Marie was born Aug. 5, 1933 on a farm west of Rochester to Michael and Blanche Plemling.  She graduated from Lourdes High School in 1951. In her early twenties she worked as a dental assistant, a job shesaid she really enjoyed, and she retired from Ability Building Center after working there for 20 years.  She married Paul Hennessey Oct. 13, 1951.After a few years they moved to a farm west of Country Club Manor. She loved being a mom and raising her family in the country. She used to say that those times were some of her most cherished memories.

Marie Therese was named after St. Therese of Lisieux.  After reading St. Therese’s autobiography “The Story of a Soul”,Marie had a special devotion to her.  Marie was a woman of deep faith and a “prayer warrior”.From 1975 to about 1985 she was actively involved in the Rochester Charismatic Prayer group.  In 1983 she became a Secular Franciscan. For about 60 years she attended daily mass.  She looked forward to going on retreats and days of prayer.

Her family and friends thank God for her life, her example, and we will all miss her deeply.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael Plemling and Blanche (McGowan)Plemling; her husband, Paul Hennessey; her son, Michael; her two sisters, Pauline Plemling and Lucile Moran; and her brother Marvin McGowan.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary (Bob) Kluck of Cottage Grove, Mn. and Jessica (John) Diaz of Blaine, Mn.; her son, Nicholas of Rochester, Mn.; and her six grandchildren, Michael, Bryan, Timothy, James, Sarah, Joseph Diaz; and her sister, Mary Ellen Zachman of St. Paul.
