Margaret A. Corrigan
Margaret Ann “Ludescher” Corrigan, age 81, died peacefully surrounded by her family, on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Saint Marys Hospital.
Margaret was born on September 23, 1931 in Des Moines. Along with her family she moved to Rochester where she graduated from Lourdes High School in 1949. She later attended the Mankato School of Business.
Margaret worked for Thorp Financial, where she met her husband, John Corrigan. They were married for 54 years.
She also worked at several retail businesses in Rochester for over 15 years.
One of Margaret’s greatest joys in life was her 5 grandchildren. She was involved for many years with the St. Pius X Choir and soloist at many weddings and funerals. She was active in the church, school and many volunteer activities. Margaret loved to travel. She and John visited almost every state in the US and several European countries. Her greatest travel experience was when she and John traveled to Burkina Faso, West Africa, visiting her son John who was a Peace Corp volunteer. She was a voracious reader and passionate about giving service to others.
She is survived by her husband, John, and four children, John (Lisa) Corrigan, Mary (Harry) Corrigan Pearson, Anne (Chris) Corrigan Watson, Kathleen (Bill) Corrigan Howe and her five grandchildren, Austin, Colin John, Abagael, William and Jack.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Jim.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 17, 2012 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home from 5:00PM to 7:00PM and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 10:30AM with the Rev. Paul Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Margaret had many interests and was passionate about them all, but her greatest strength during life was her steadfast faith in God.
Memorials in Margaret’s name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Condolences
The family of Margaret A. Corrigan has received the following condolences.
So sorry to hear of your loss. Many fond memories of the Hoover School days. We're thinking of you at this time.
She must have been quite a person. So sorry to hear about her. We are all thinking of you in Montana.
Our deepest condolences to the entire Corrigan clan for their loss. We fondly remember Mrs. Corrigan sitting in the Alexander's living room, chatting lively about Peace Corps, West Africa, and the odd miscellany of stuff John felt compelled to bring home from his Peace Corps service in Burkina Faso. We enjoyed her characteristic grace, charm, and calm at John and Lisa's wedding and reception some years later. Mothers are the backbone and pulse of every family, and we share your sorrow at her passing. Our abiding love and compassion is with Mr. Corrigan, John and Lisa, and the entire Corrigan family.
Mary, please know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We thank your mother for raising an amazing daughter and I am confident the same applies to your whole family! God Bless.
I am so sorry to hear about Margaret. She was a special woman who always brought laughter and sunshine to everyone she met. My prayers are with you.

Margaret was a great friend and cousin-in-law. I will miss her greatly. Even though we didn't live nearby, she was often in my thoughts. She raised a fantastic family and was deeply faith-filled. I know John, Johnny, Mary, Annie and Kathy will always have wonderful memories to console them. I wish I could be there for all of you and for myself to say goodbye to this great woman of God. Much love to all of you.
Dear John and Family, I'm so sorry for you loss and you are all in my prayers. Sincerely, Gail Howe
Margaret was an angel in so many ways. She was a wonderful mother to her children and all of the children who came in contact with her. She was always there for everyone and made a difference in so many lives. I had the privilege of living with them for a summer while dad was traveling. It was the most memorabel childhood memory and I learned so much about my cousins as well as she and John. What a wonderful experience and I am grateful to have spent such a short time with her and the family. Over the years she always was on my heart and I did my best to keep in contact with her. I always enjoyed our conversations and keeping in touch. I talked to her last week and it was a great conversation. I am so thankful to have known such a Godly women. She is with my dad now as well as her parents and friends. She was such a beautiful women. I am sorry I could not be there with the family but know she will always be in my heart. Love Jay
