Mae M. Hesse, age 97, passed away peacefully at her Rochester residence on June 16, 2014 with her family at her side. Mae Lambert was born on October 13, 1916 in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota to Alphonse and Cesarie (Boucher) Lambert. Mae grew up in Red Lake Falls until 1932, when she moved to St. Paul, MN. In 1941, she married Hoyt Nordquist. Following his passing in 1959, she married Raymond T. Hesse in Forest Lake, MN in September of 1965. The couple soon thereafter moved to Rochester where Mae lovingly raised her family. Mae was an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church, and was active in the St. Mary’s Rosary Group.
Survivors include her step-son James (Colleen) Hesse of Rochester, three step-daughters, Mary (John) Moriarty of Maple Grove, MN, Elizabeth Hesse-Brockmann of Palm Harbor, Florida, Ann Novotny of Rochester, fourteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a daughter-in-law Jane Nordquist. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, her son Deon Nordquist, her first husband Hoyt Nordquist, her second husband Raymond T. Hesse, and her son-in-law Jack Brockmann. Mae is the last survivor in her family of six brothers and six sisters.
Memorials are preferred written to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Rochester.

TO Jim Hesse and family:
My sympathy on Mae's death. Her Medicsare drug plan will be automatically cancelled...the government informs the insurance company. You will want to make sure that her medical plan is properly cancelled...I am not the agent on that.
John Whelan
My deepest sympathy to you, Liz, and all of your family. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.
Love, Cherlyn
My mother Dolores (Gauthier) Greb and I send our condolences to Mae's family. Mae was my Grandmother Rose's younger sister. I don't think I got to meet Mae, I did meet Jane and Eunice and Agnes though. As a Lambert decendant it is good to know the women tend to live into their 90's. Grandma Rose was 98 when she passed. This picture of Mae shows how much she resembled Rose and my own mom Dolores. I will pray for her soul.
May she rest in the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
