With great love and fond memories, we announce the peaceful passing of Lois Jean Toogood, who completed her earthly journey on October 13, 2025, at the age of 93 in Rochester, MN. Lois was born on March 30, 1932, to Everett and Alice (Winter) Titrington and graduated from St. Charles High School, embarking on a life filled with love, creativity, and dedication to her family and community.
On September 2, 1950, Lois married John Allen “Jack” Toogood, continuing her journey as a devoted mother to her four beloved children: Gregory, Sheila, Shawn, and Patrick. A true stay-at-home mom at heart, Lois filled her home with love, laughter, and a nurturing spirit that will echo in the hearts of her family forever.
Lois had a passion for flower gardening and nurturing house plants. Her talent for interior decorating, color coordination and refinishing antique furniture showcased her creative flair.
A lover of animals, Lois adopted several cats and dogs throughout the years, embodying her compassion for all living beings. She championed environmental stewardship and water conservation, instilling a sense of responsibility for the earth in her family. A history enthusiast, Lois found joy in genealogy, sharing her family’s rich stories.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Sheila (Gary) Alrick, and her sons, Gregory, Shawn, and Patrick. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren, Ryan (April) and Rozalind, her step-grandchildren, Tara (Patrick) Loucks and Eric (Teri) Alrick, and great-grandsons, Ronald Paterson, Dorian and Rowen Toogood, who will carry her spirit forward.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Estella Kurth, Virginia Sexton, and Arlene Boysen, as well as her infant son, Steven, and daughter-in-law Lydia.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM. A visitation will take place one hour prior, allowing friends and family the opportunity to come together to reminisce, honor her memory, and share heartfelt stories that reflect her beautiful spirit.
