Laurence “Larry” Kinyon

Laurence (Larry) Russel Kinyon, 87, of Byron, MN passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Season’s Hospice House.

Larry was born on December 4, 1937, in Rochester, MN to Dean and Elsa (Meyer) Kinyon. Elsa was later remarried to Mark Powers. Larry graduated from Eyota High School in 1955. In 1957 Larry joined the Air Force, serving until 1963 and then served in the reserves until 1964. In 1975 Larry married Donna Zirbel. Larry drove truck for over 55 years.

In his spare time, Larrry enjoyed gardening, woodworking, playing bingo, going to the casino, and spending time with family and friends.

Larry is survived by his wife Donna; his children Julie (Terry) Myers of Kansas, Joanna Kinyon of Minnesota, and Lynn (Rose) Kinyon of Minnesota; grandchildren Jennifer (Russel) Klepees, Curtis (Jessica) Larrison Jr, Cheyenne Larrison all from Kansas, Todd Davis, Courtney (Paul) Szemborski Jr, Brianna Kinyon, and Cordell Kinyon; Great Grandchildren Jayden, Cole, Curtis III, Margaret, Jenna, Clayton, Casey, Brantley, Lane, Rose, Karlee, Paul III, Theodore, and Mason; and 2 brothers, and 3 sisters. He was proceeded in death by his parents and a brother.

The Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, June 8, 2025, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with a visitation an hour prior to the service. A private family burial will take place at a later date at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
