Launa Jean Johnson

Launa Jean Johnson, 83, of Byron, MN, passed away peacefully on Feb 23rd, 2026.

Born on November 24th, 1942, in Minneapolis to Noel and Bernice Deslauriers.  Launa grew up in the Twin Cities area and graduated from Osseo High School as well as cosmetology school. She worked as a Manufacturing Associate at Federal Ammunition for a number of years.

Launa married Michael Payette and together they shared 17 years of marriage. She also married Gordon Altringer and Bruce Johnson. A dedicated parent, she was a passionate reader and bird watcher.

Launa is survived by children Charles Payette and Cindy Solarz and four grandchildren as well as great grandchildren and her sister Debbie Prax.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and two of her daughters, Jeanna Payette and Ginger Fitzerald.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 27th, 2026, at 2:00pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Rochester, MN. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
