Kyla M. Servantez

Kyla Marie (Rinnels) Servantez, 43, of Mason City, Iowa, passed away peacefully after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer on November 11, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Methodist Campus, in Rochester, MN surrounded by her loving family.

Kyla was born on January 1, 1982, to Gary and Barb Rinnels. Kyla loved to watch Cambree compete in horse shows and watch Cole play hockey. She loved being at home with her family and pets, especially her dog Millie. She was co-owner with her husband Shane, at their family business River City Glass.

She is survived by her husband Shane; daughter Cambree and son Cole; her mother Barb Rinnels; father-in-law Mark Servantez; and sister-in-law Mandy Servantez. As well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Preceding Kyla in death are her father Gary Rinnels; mother-in-law Karen Dickson; and her grandparents.

Per Kyla’s wishes she has been cremated and a private family gathering will be held at a later date. In her words, “Remember me by volunteering at an animal shelter or rescue, or donate money there.”

Our hearts are beyond saddened by the loss of Kyla, she fought the toughest battle with the toughest diagnosis.  Everyone will be touched by her braveness and perserverance.  May her memories carry family during this impossibly difficult time.  If the saying only the good die young we can believe Kyla was the best.  Prayers to all, Barb was undoubtably the best mother ever and I treasure her raising such an impressive daughter.

It is never easy to let such a smart beautiful woman like Kyla go. She seems way too young and vibrant and full of life. What a special woman and human being. She touched the world  in so many beautiful ways.

Our hearts go out to everyone who had a chance to meet Kyla. She was so full of love. We will cheer on Cole loud and proud in your honor and support your family in any other way we can. Keep watching, championships will be won in your honor! 

We are so sad by Kyla's passing. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She will be greatly missed by so many. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Shane, Cambree, and Cole. May God wrap his loving arms around you all at this very sad time and comfort you .

As I sit here and read over your obituary, I still can’t believe it’s true. I will miss our Conversations but most of all I will miss just knowing that you were there when i needed  someone to talk to! This big world feels a whole lot less kinder now!
