Knute Loren Bungum
Knute L. Bungum, age 80 of Rochester passed away on October 5, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Knute was born on July 28, 1936 in rural Dodge County, MN to Bennie R. and Anna B. Bungum. He attended country school and graduated from Kasson High School in 1954. Following high school, he enlisted in the US Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged. He later was in the Army Reserves. On August 27, 1983 he married Judy Ann Bennett in Stewartville, MN. Knute worked for the Mayo Clinic in Architectural Maintenance and retired in 2001. He enjoyed traveling to the cabin in Cross Lake, MN, fishing, wood working, boating, pontoon rides, going to the casino, and having a few cocktails with family and friends. Knute was proud of his Norwegian heritage, and was known to be a jokester.
He is survived by his wife Judy of Rochester, his children Linda (Bob O’Brien) Fjerstad of Kasson, Bonnie (Chad Tilford) Redman of Mazeppa, MN Janet (Neil) Fjerstad of Kasson, Kevin (Lisa) Burkhart of Kasson, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, a great-great grandson, three sisters Ruth Stevens, Martha Campbell, Alpha Jensen, a brother Gerhard Bungum, a brother-in-law Gary (Linda) Bennett and a sister-in-law Darleen Bennett.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a son Randy, two brothers, and a sister.
A Funeral Service for Knute will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, October 10, 2016 at South Zumbro Lutheran Church (4830 120th Ave SW Kasson, MN). Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral and one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in the South Zumbro Church Cemetery.

So sorry to hear about Knute. I am working at the Reading Center(only a few blocks from Barlows) and I check out the obits for work. I was surprised when I saw Knute's name listed. I haven't seen you in years. This is not the way to get reacquainted.
