Kevin W. Patzer

Kevin William Patzer, age 56 of Byron, passed away peacefully, following a battle with cancer, at Seasons Hospice House on September 25, 2018.

Kevin was born on October 25, 1961 in Rochester to Oscar and Alice (Peda) Patzer. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1980. On May 28, 1988 he married Sue Sparks at Ascension Lutheran Church in Rochester. Kevin worked for the Mayo Clinic for over twenty years in various departments before becoming a US Postal Service rural mail carrier. Kevin was a true handyman. He enjoyed woodworking, cooking, and working around the house.

He is survived by his wife, Sue of Byron; his daughter, Lacey (Dan) Johnson of Maple Valley, WA; his mother, Alice Patzer of Rochester; his siblings, Gary (Bonnie) Patzer of Bloomer, WI, Naomi Austin of AZ, Kathleen (Mike) Young of Rochester, and Darla Clapper of Fort Myers, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Oscar.

The memorial service for Kevin will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2018 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Rev. Carol Schaffer officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Burial of his ashes will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery near Byron, MN.

Sue and family. It was such a shock to read of Kevin's  passing. Sending thoughts and prayers to you all.  Todd and I haven't seen Kevin in a few years.  Sorry to hear of his battle with  cancer.  May he rest easy as now he is pain free.  He was quite the handyman, gardener, cook.  Sue and Lacey,  peace and comfort to you both .
