Kenneth E. Weaver

Kenneth Eston Weaver – Rochester, MN

Kenneth Eston Weaver, 95, of Rochester, MN passed away on September 5, 2025, at The Homestead at Rochester.

Ken was born December 6, 1929, in Sibley, Iowa, to Claude and Edna (Nasers) Weaver. He served in the Army National Guard and the US Army.

On December 11, 1953, he married the love of his life, Elsie Watson, at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They returned several times to renew their vows at the August get together.

Ken worked as a Custodial Engineer in the Rochester Public Schools for 33 years retiring in 1991, with his last several years being at Harriet Bishop Elementary. In March of 1991, Ken received the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce Excellence of Education Award.

Kenneth and Elsie raised their five daughters together in Rochester. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ken had many interests, including playing cards, golfing, square dancing, bowling, camping, and traveling. Ken and Elsie traveled together to all 50 states including Hawaii and Alaska. They wintered in Yuma, AZ for 20 years.

He is survived by his daughters Regina (James) Lawman, Debora Paulson (Michael Tointon), Joanie (James) Stevenson, Annmarie (Eugene) Kuyath, Barbara (Troy) Sims; 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 1 brother, Harley (JoAnn) Weaver.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Elsie, his parents, and 8 siblings.

The family wishes to thank Mayo Palliative Care, Mayo Hospice, and The Homestead at Rochester staff. A special thank you to Dr. Robert Stroebel for his excellent care of Ken & Elsie throughout many years.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2025, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with visitation from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m.

I have some nice memories of doing a few things with Uncle Ken when I was a kid. One of them was playing a little touch football when he visited our farm. He was a great person and a great uncle.
