Kenneth Charles Brown, 88, died of natural causes on Sunday, June 27, 2021.
He was born August 19, 1932, to Edwin Harry Brown and Vera Maude (Prentiss) Brown. He graduated from Rochester High School in 1950 and enlisted in the Army in 1951, spending most of his service time in Alabama. On August 6, 1955, he married Joan Gertrude Grabko at St. John’s Catholic Church in Rochester MN.
Ken was a hard worker and a man of many talents. He was a founding member of Church of the Resurrection and donated his time and talent to ready the old airport building as a temporary place of worship while the new church was being built.
His working years were spent with his father as an electrician for Ed Brown Electric, a company his father founded in the 1930s. Upon his father’s retirement, Ken purchased the business and ran it successfully for many years.
His passion for many years was airplanes. He built his own plane from a kit and enjoyed many good times with friends at his hangar in Dodge Center. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was an avid reader.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Brandon and Paul; sisters, Doris (Ron) Brandly, Phyllis (George) Kramer; grandson, Cody; and infant brother.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2021 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Rochester, MN.
