The funeral service for Kelly Thompson will be Tuesday April 19, 2016 at 11:00am at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Rochester with Pastor Fred Rengstorf officiating. Visitation will be 4:00pm – 7:00pm on Monday, April 18, 2016 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.
Kelly Ann Heckman Thompson, 49, of Rochester died on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at her home in Rochester surrounded by her loving family.
Kelly was born on October 25, 1966 in Rochester to David and Shirley (Lenn) Heckman. She graduated from Mayo High School. On August 16, 2014 she married Kenneth Thompson in Rochester. She worked as a housekeeper for Mayo Clinic.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; sons, Zachary Heckman of Rochester, Robert Gunderson-Heckman of La Mesa, CA, Kasey Katusky of Rochester; daughter Anna Katusky of Rochester; her father David (Jan) Heckman of Dayton, MN and her mother Shirley Thomann of Stewartville; brother Raymond Heckman of Jefferson, TX and sister Kim (Ron) Sonnek of Stewartville; one grandson Sylas Weyer; three step-children, Jessie, Jasmine, and Dalton. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, step-father Earle Thomann and step-son, Thomas Thompson.

I was so saddened to hear of the loss of Kelly. Kelly would come to the floor I work on a lot and when ever I would
pass her in the hall she would always say hello with a big smile on her face she was very friendly, kind and easygoing.
My heart goes out to you all. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers.
I had the pleasure of working with Kelly. She was sp pleasant and easy to work with. So sorry for your loss.

I never saw Kelly without a smile on her face! I had the privilege of working with her. She could turn any frown into a smile with staff and patients alike. My heart goes out to her friends and family! I miss all the crazy stories about Reptar and sharing our love of dogs! May she watch over all of us. The world is a better place because she was here.
What a beautiful angel heaven has gained. Kelly was always so much fun at work, her smile and humor could light up the room and often made a bad day better. My heart grieves with you and I am so sorry for your loss. Goodbye hot stuff!
