Kaye Susette Ronnenberg

Kaye Susette Ronnenberg, 65, of Rochester, MN, died Saturday, April 3, 2021 peacefully at her home.

Kaye was born July 19, 1955 in Rushford, MN to Clifford and Avis (Palmquist) Heiden. She graduated from Rushford High School in 1973 and earned a diploma in Medical Transcription from Rochester Community College in 1974. On May 5, 1979, she married Albert J. Ronnenberg at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hart, MN until they later divorced. Kaye made her home in Byron, MN where she dedicated her years to raising Adam and faithfully supporting him through school and sports. She was an active member at Christ Lutheran Church and enjoyed time with friends.  Kaye moved to Rochester in 2014 where she surrounded herself with great people and lots of laughs. She worked for nearly 35 years as a secretary in orthopedics and an education program coordinator in Neurologic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic. She retired from the Mayo Clinic in 2017.

Kaye loved spending time with her family and would travel to visit them at the drop of a hat! She enjoyed meeting friends for coffee or dinner, shopping for clothes and jewelry and did her best to catch every single Hallmark movie she could manage. Oma Kaye always made sure her grandchildren were abundantly “outfitted” as she loved them all so fiercely. They were truly the light of her life!

She is survived by her parents, Clifford (Pat) Heiden of Rushford, MN and Avis Frederick of Houston, MN; brother, Kerry (Faye) Heiden of Rushford, MN; nephew, Tony (Jess) Heiden of Rushford, MN; niece, Laura Heiden of St. Paul, MN; son, Adam (Heather) Ronnenberg of Maple Lake, MN; and three grandchildren, Grace, Evan and Harper Ronnenberg.

The memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Pastor Culynn Curtis officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. prior to the service.

I was sorry to hear of Kaye’s passing. During her time as our education coordinator she was hard working, dedicated and fun to be around. Condolences to her family and friends, she will be greatly missed.

I have only been Kaye's neighbor for 10 months but we had become friends. Such a sweet lady! I enjoyed her company and miss her very much. Her cat Max is a sweet boy. In Kaye's memory, I will take the best care of Max for the rest of his days.

I was so saddened to hear of Kaye's passing.  I worked with her for several years when she came to work in Neurosurgery.  She was a delight - always smiling and laughing and ready to show pictures of her grandbabies!  She will be missed.

Adam and family I worked with your Mom in the Hand Clinic for many years. We always enjoyed talking of family when we shared walks or breaks she was always a joy to work with and great fun at after work gatherings . She so loved you and your family and was very proud of all of you. We enjoyed many good times and she will be missed. Keeping you and your family in our prayers. Deanna and Bruce Hanson

I went to school with Kaye. We had some good times! I also went into the same profession as Kaye so I know what she did for her job. I wish her family peace. It is hard to lose a loved one.

I enjoyed knowing Kaye in Center City.  She was a spitfire who added a great spirit to our group.  Her love of family, especially her grandchildren, was often the topic of conversation.  Though not geographically close, it saddens me greatly to know she has passed.  Prayers for those she leaves behind and peace for a friend to many.

Adam and family,  So sorry for your loss of your Mom.  Kaye was always so proud of you growing up.  We hadn’t seen her in recent years but shared many fond memories in the past.  She seemed to enjoy our shopping trips.  Hold on to your favorite memories.  May Kaye Rest In Peace.  Sincerely Rich and Bev Moore

Kaye was our program coordinator at Mayo. I worked with her closely for several years and appreciated her wisdom, her loyalty, her experience, and her great sense of humor. She was a wonderful person and loved her family deeply. In turn, I know that they loved her deeply. I do not have words to convey how sad I am that she did not have more years to spend with her children and grandchildren. I will miss her a lot.

Dear Adam, I am still in shock as I ponder your mom’s passing. I have known her more than 30 years, and the things that stay with me are her heartfelt laughter and her incredible love and pride in her son. Long ago I had the pleasure of joining her on a bowling league, went golfing with her, and even travelled to the Twin Cities to go line dancing. More recently, we enjoyed breakfasts at the Elks, lunches at the Chickadee Cottage in Lake City, and a girl’s weekend in Galena IL. She was always up for fun. Kaye talked often of you and your beautiful family, and she loved her grandchildren immensely. I miss her already. Please know that my love for Kaye extends to her family. My prayers are with you. Cori

So sad to hear of Kaye's passing....Heaven gained an angel. Sincere condolences to all who loved Kaye.

Adam, I'm so very sorry to hear about the loss of your mom.  Deepest sympathy to you and your family.  I worked with your mom for several years in the Hand Clinic.  Kaye was a dedicated Mayo employee extending excellence to providers, patients and education programs.  I was grateful to have Kaye as a member of our team.  Kaye was so proud of you and your accomplishments through life.  She shared with us your many proud moments as a young individual and into adulthood.  She was very proud of you, Adam.  Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  May cherished memories provide comfort and peace in this time of loss.  So sorry for your loss.

Adam and family:  My deepest condolences on the passing of your mom.  She and I sat together in Orthopedics for several years.  We also bowled on the same league team in the late 80’s/early 90’s.  Kaye always had a smile for everyone—but particularly when she spoke of you.  It was such a joy to have known her, and I have only great memories of her.  My prayers will be with you and your family during this difficult time.

On behalf of her many colleagues and friends in the Neurosurgery Coordinator community I wish to express our condolences.  Kaye was a wonderful member of our group and we looked forward to seeing her at our annual meetings.  She would liven up the social hours, talking with everyone and always willing to share her thoughts!  I especially enjoyed the meeting we had there in Rochester where she was our host and made sure everyone knew where to go and have some fun.

We miss her!

With love and respect,

Kathy Guzman

Praying for you, Laura, and all your family as you celebrate the beautiful life Aunt Kaye lived.  May you continue to share all the wonderful memories she gave each of you.  Hugs

Dear Adam and extended family.  Our heartfelt sympathy to you.  Kaye was a very kind and caring person and always ready for a conversation.  She will be missed.

Hold on to the fond memories and I pray God carries you through this difficult time.

Words cannot express the loss of my dear friend,  Kaye. I believe we met over 30 years ago through church and our sons went to school together.  She was our travel planner, our breakfast planner, and our just hanging out with friends planner. Always socializing with a laugh or two. Favorite memories were a girlfriend get away to Galena, Il. Breakfasts at VFW. Lunches at Chickadee in Lake City, MN. She was so devoted to Adam and worshiped the ground he walked on. Oma Kaye will definitely be missed by  grandkids Grace, Evan and Harper Kaye. Praying for strength  for Adam and his family.   Peace be with you my friend until we meet again. ❤❤❤❤❤

I truly enjoyed Kaye. She was so welcoming to me when I joined the family, always a smile on her face and a kind word.  Even through the years Kaye continued to share her smile and it was always evident how much she valued her family, especially her grandkids! Thinking of you all. Pam

I am so sorry to hear of Kaye’s passing. I remember growing up with her as a cousin and a friend sharing secrets and family. I admired the fact that she was so much more grown up and mature than I even though we were the same age. Kaye had a big heart, was a very good cook and talented musician. I loved her sense of humor. RIP dear friend.

Thoughts, prayers and sympathy to Kaye's family and friends.

Kaye always had a smile and a kind word to everyone she encountered. Such a sweet,  fun person!

I most recently had seen her at HyVee convenience store and always looked forward to seeing if she was working when i filled my car with gas.

Also remember Kaye helping with confirmation classes at Christ Lutheran.  A kind and caring soul to all.❤

I am so sorry for the loss of  your mom Adam , she was a beautiful person . I am sure she is at peace knowing how much she was loved by all. The grand children were lucky to

have her as their Oma.

So saddened to hear this news. I too worked with Kaye in Ortho and there were many laughs shared. I saw her at Kwik Trip not that long ago an had a chance to catch up a bit. She was still the same Kaye, full of life and laughing. She will be missed.

Adam:  I am so sorry to hear about your mother.  She was a wonderful, generous, and full of life person.  She will be missed by family and friends. I don't know if you remember but I worked with her in Orthopedics.  By any chance did she give you her list of the different pronunciations of Dr. Beckenbaugh's name?  It was always such a treat in the office when she would pull them out.   I'm very happy to see that you are married and have a family.  She always loved you so much.  Anyway, my sincere condolences.

Kaye was a wonderful Mayo Clinic employee, strong advocate for neurosurgery education and the residents, and most professional with her activities.  She was enthusiastic, dedicated and worked collaboratively with all of her colleagues.  After retiring from Mayo, I would occasionally see her at Kwik Trip, having fun and living large. It was true pleasure to work know her and work with her, and I will miss her.

Kaye always made me feel at home. The warmest hugs and honest laughs.  She met you where you were and tried to lift you up.   She raised one of my most favorite people and she is reflected in him.  My deepest sympathies to all.

So sorry to he a hear. I was in Kay's class at Houston.  Prayers being sent to all of her family.  ?

So so sorry to hear of Kayes passing...she was a great friend and work partner ..I sat by her many years in ortho in the hand section.   Our sympathies to her family.   Donna and Jerry and Jordon and Kelsey Riemersma

Kaye was the first person to whom I spoke when I first planned a trip to Mayo, and she immediately made me feel at home in her department. Her warm personality and friendly demeanor helped make a transition to Minnesota easy for me and my family, and I missed her greatly upon her retirement. I can only imagine what an enormously positive impact she had on her family and friends, and I am sure she will be greatly missed by many. Please accept my condolences for your loss.

Kaye.  No words for finding out this news.  You were a great friend/colleague.  :(  I know you are looking down and smiling upon us with all that spunk!

Adam and family,

I worked with your mom in the hand clinic for many years. She always had a friendly smile! She will be missed. Tim

Many, many fun & special times were spent in Kaye’s company.  If we weren’t wallpapering, golfing, going out for dinner—then we were making huge batches of salsa that tasted so good and was so much fun! It was so special working with Kaye for several years. We love Kaye, Barb & Peggy
