Kathy Sue Slesinski

Kathy Sue Slesinski, age 39 of Rochester passed away peacefully on March 6, 2014 at St. Marys Hospital.

Kathy was born on December 14, 1974 in Rochester to Gary and Jean (Peterson) Slesinski. She graduated from Mayo High School in 1993 and has been alongside her high school sweetheart, Amos Kroening, since that time. Due to her love of animals, she worked at various pet grooming shops. She had a true natural connection to animals, especially cats. She enjoyed her pets, swimming, and making jewelry.

Kathy had a special ability to understand and be compassionate to all those she met, and in turn, people were drawn to her, and wanted to help take care of her.

She is survived by her soulmate, Amos Kroening of Elgin, her parents Gary and Jean (Peterson) Slesinski of Rochester, her sisters, Brenda (Chris) Jepsen and Tammy (Chris) Nash both of Long Beach, CA, her nephews Carter and Logan, and a niece, Korina.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Ralph and Angie Peterson.

A funeral service for Kathy will be held on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 1:00PM in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Chaplain Scott Jorgenson officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2014 from 2:00PM to 5:00PM in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service.

Condolences

The family of Kathy Sue Slesinski has received the following condolences.

I was so sorry to hear of Kathy's passing.  I won't be able to be at the funeral but I will remember all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Thinking of You,

Mary

So sorry to hear of Kathy's passing.  She always had a smile on her face, no matter how terrible she might be feeling.  Glad to have known her and Amos, sad that it was not always under the best circumstances.  Please know that her family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

Margie, RN Domitilla 6B

I just wanted to express my condolences.  I first met Kathy through my cousin Kasey who also had Cystic Fibrosis.  We became acquaintances through his life and death.  Kathy, Amos and I did not really become friends until we met again through our greyhounds.  Our love of animals has kept us friends over all of these years and I was so honored to have met and had Kathy as part of my life.  To all of you my heart is breaking for you on this day.

Michele

Our condolences to all who know and love Kathy.  I remember Kathy's smile and enthusiasm at those CF walks over the years!  We pray that your precious memories will bring you comfort as your mourn her death and as you celebrate her life well lived.

Love and prayers from Cathy and Craig Reiter

I was so sad to hear of Kathy's passing.  I didn't know her very well, but seems I didn't need to as every single time I saw her she was so friendly and gratious and warm.  What a remarkable girl.  My heart goes out to all of you, I can't imagine how much you'll miss her.  I'm sure grandma (Angie) and grandpa (Ralph) have already given her the absolute best "welcome home".

Kathy was such a bright spot in my day when I worked with her.  She will be terribly missed.  It breaks my heart that I will not see her again this side of eternity.

She was always friendly and had such a wonderful laugh even when she wasn't feeling very good.
