Kathleen Anne Willert

Kathleen Anne Willert, age 65, died June 18th at home after a long battle with Multiple Systems Atrophy.  She was born on March 24, 1949 in Mason City, Iowa to Roland and Grace (Engles) Lonergan.

Kathy held several jobs during her lifetime.  Her last job was at the Minnesota State Patrol from 1992-2006.

Kathy enjoyed quilting, scrap booking, gardening, biking and walking.  She won many ribbons and awards for her quilting at the Olmsted County Fair.  She especially enjoyed time spent with family and friends giving her many special memories.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Gaylan of 46 years; three sons, Jeff (Lisa) Willert, Mike Willert, and Steve (Michelle) Willert; six grandchildren, Megan, Austin, Tyler, John, CJ and Olivia and mother, Grace Lonergan.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Roland Lonergan; brother, Stephen Lonergan; and two grandsons, Andrew and David Willert.

Gaylan would like to thank Home Instead Senior Care, especially Sherry and Alice for all the years of loving care they provided, and also Seasons Hospice for all their support and help.

Memorials are preferred to the Ronald McDonald House in Rochester.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30AM on Monday, June 23, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Rev. Mark C. McNea officiating.  A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30AM on Monday at the church.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.

Gaylon and family and Grace:   Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.  Kathy was a wonderful woman and I could tell that in the short time I have known her.  May God be with you in your time of sorrow.  

Gaylon and Family and Grace         Kathy was a remarkable niece    We are for ever grateful for the beatiful quilt she made us for our Anv. She was so good at anything she wanted to do. She will always be in our prayers.

Kathy was always such a positive and caring person.  I have thought of her often since she left MSP and am so sorry to hear of your loss.  Rest in Peace, dear lady.

Gaylan and family     Sorry to hear of Kathy's death.   She was a remarkable woman.  I am lucky to have years of memories of wonderful times with Kathy and Steve and all our cousins.  I shall miss her, but have her close to me each time is sit and sew.   I wish I had the talent she had in one finger.  Her kindness shall be with me forever.  I will miss her .   She had so much to be bitter about, but I never saw that side of her.

I'm so very sorry to learn of Kathy's passing. Wow...what a shock but then she is in a good place and no more suffering...it was a long haul!  She was such a remarkable woman and I will surely miss her presence. We've had alot of good visits.  I remember when you and Kathy came to pick up some of my umpteen leaves for weed control.  Please know that you and your family are very much in my thoughts and prayers during this sad time.

Dear Gator and Family, Words cannot express how sad I feel for you all.  It was one of the happiest times when you moved into Stonehedge and all the fun we all had together with Jeannie and Gerry.  Kathy was such a wonderful, caring, and beautiful person.  We will miss her so much!  Please stop over with Fritz anytime Gator. Kari and I will see you soon.  Take care.

Gaylan & family,

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Aunt Kathy.  Kathy was a very gracious women and will be missed dearly.   We hope loving memories of times with your mom will live with you forever and help heal your hearts.  Kathy is in a better place and will be your guardian angel to watch over you and your families.  We pray for friends to comfort you, faith to uphold you and great memories heal you. 

One of my favorite phrases a dear friend told me years ago during a time of sorrow. 'When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure'.  Kathy will always be the treasure for you!
