Karin M. Swenson
The funeral for Karin Mae Swenson will be Monday, February 9, at 11 AM at Bethel Lutheran Church, with visitation an hour before the service. A graveside service will be at 1 P.M. Tuesday, February 10th, at Fairview Cemetery in Lindstrom, MN.
Karin died Wednesday, February 4th at Whitewater Health Services in St. Charles.
She was born on February 2, 1940, to Walfred and Beatrice Noren. She grew up in Chisago City, MN, on a dairy farm. On June 19th, 1959, Karin married Tony Swenson, another full-blooded Swede who was the love of her life. Together they had three children: Shelli, Scott and Steve. They lived briefly in St. Paul, Richland Center, WI and Green Bay, WI before settling in Rochester, MN. They enjoyed square-dancing, hosting Bible studies and their large raspberry patch. Karin and Tony were long-time members of Bethel Lutheran Church.
Karin worked at the snack bar at Mayo High School for many years and loved attending hockey games. In 2005, just a few years after she retired, Tony died unexpectedly of acute aortic rupture, a loss she grieved for the rest of her life.
She enjoyed stamping and creating cards, crocheting blankets and numerous prayer shawls, watching the MN Wild play and spending time with her grandchildren. At the time of her death, she had four great-grandchildren which brought a special sparkle to her eye.
Survivors include her daughter, Shelli Wright, and sons Scott (Donna) and Steve (Amber); seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Whitewater Health Services in St. Charles, MN for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials are made to Bethel Lutheran.

Iam so sorry for your loss , I was Karin's hair dresser. we had wouderfull talks and laughs. she was my favorite lady and will miss her alot.
Iam glad I got to meet Karin's daughter Shelli at the nursing home
Shelli, Scott, Steve and family,
I want to express my sympathy for your loss. Karin was very wonderful, kind and thoughtful. I enjoyed many visits and conversations in the past 15+ years that I have known Karin. We always laughed when I would call her or she would call me with a Medicare question because the conversation would start with, this is Karin with the i not the e. I know she really missed your dad and now she is in Heaven having a great time together. My best to all of you.

❤️ there are some people in life that time to help you to slow down and ponder life. Karin was one that always had time for a chat and made your day better. She will be greatly missed. Our sympathy to those that mourn the loss along with us. Joe and Sandy
I’m deeply saddened to hear of Karin’s passing. My memories of her go back to high school when she worked in the snack counter. And many years later we were reunited by a chance encounter at old country buffet that lead to years of spending time together. Going out for dinner and playing cards/games. And all the jewelry I made that she graciously bought from me. She was a funny lady. A kind lady. A generous lady. A good friend. I will miss her very much. My deepest sympathies to her family.
