Judith Ellen Nelson

Judith Ellen Nelson, 80, of Stewartville, MN, died Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN. Judi was born June 2, 1942, in Austin, MN to Elvin and Alpha (Waller) Christopherson. She graduated from Austin High School. She later married Larry Teff and had 2 sons; Scott and Cory.  They were later divorced. In 1972 she married Ronald Nelson, and she gained 2 more children; James Nelson and Jackie Nelson. The family then moved to Springdale Arkansas. In 1981 they moved back to Rochester, MN.

In 1983, Judi and Ron opened and managed Fontaine Towers until their retirement in 2013. They then moved back to Springdale, Arkansas where they were able to spend winters with Scott, Cory, and their families, and summers in Minnesota with Jimmy, Jackie, and their families. Ron and Judi loved traveling in their RV with their dog Sophie.

Judi loved camping, fishing, playing BINGO, and the penny slot machines. Most of all, she loved the grandkids and now the many great grandkids. Her family meant the world to her.

Judi is survived by her husband Ron, sisters Shirley Hemingway, Cindy (Bob) Dunham, and brother Randy (Nancy) Christopherson, sons Cory (Janet) Teff of Springdale, AR; Jimmy (Stacy) Nelson of Rochester, MN; and daughter Jackie (Duane) Rasmussen of Wykoff, MN; nine grandkids and thirteen great grandkids, and many loving nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her parents and son, Scott.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2022, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service in the River Park Chapel.
