Joyce Marie Baumler

The funeral Mass for Joyce Baumler will be 10:00AM Monday, April 11, 2011 at Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church in Rochester with the Rev. Shawn Haremza officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Baumler, 68 died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at St. Marys Hospital from respiratory failure.

Joyce Marie Carolan was born on November 14, 1942 in Decorah Iowa to James and Esther (Hanlon) Carolan.  She attended rural grade schools in the Decorah area, and graduated in 1960 from Decorah High School.  On August 7, 1962 she married Floyd Baumler in Decorah Iowa.  She was a day care provider for many years.  Joyce enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crocheting and listening to the Minnesota Twins.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd, 4 children; Lynn (Karl) Ladin of Rochester, Cynthia (Mark) Schmidt of Rochester, Allan (Peggy) Baumler of La Crosse, WI, Jeffrey (Cindy) Baumler of Savage, 10 grandchildren; Eric, Michael, Matthew Ladin, Zachary Schmidt, Joseph, Megan, James, Jonathan Baumler, Elizabeth and Grace Baumler; 2 brothers, Leo (Betty) Carolan of Spokane WA and James (Robin) Carolan of Keosauqua, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert and Howard Carolan.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 4:00PM – 7:00PM at the original Macken Funeral Home building with a 7:00PM prayer service.   There will also be a one hour visitation prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Memorials are suggested to the Gift of Life Transplant House.
