Joyce Arlene Dornink, 86, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Rochester Health Services East.
Joyce Arlene Dyreson was born on November 6, 1931 in Amherst Township in Fillmore County to Clarence and Leila (Anderson) Dyreson in Lanesboro, MN. She graduated from Preston, MN High School. Joyce was united in marriage to Mylon Kertiss Dornink on September 20, 1950 at Bethel English Church/Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester, MN. He Passed away September 16, 2003. They made their home in Rochester, MN.
Joyce lovingly provided in home daycare for friends and was employed at Woodside Convalescent Center/Golden Living Center East nursing home in Rochester for 25 years as a Nurse Aide.
Joyce truly loved spending time with her families, friends, and neighbors. Besides the love for eagles and nature, she enjoyed watching the birds feed from her bird feeders, gardening and growing many varieties of flowers, crocheting, knitting, reading, writing letters, music and enjoyed the many travels she had in her life, and stopping at a casino along the way. Upon her daily walks, Joyce would often visit the center and visit people she knew and didn’t know at Rochester Heath services. She was a member of People of Hope Chuirch and enjoyed listening to church services on her radio/tv. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother and known for her generosity and love for all.
She will be dearly missed by her four loving daughters and three sons-in-law, Kathryn Hammel of Rochester, Barbara (Randy) Burton of Rochester, Julie (Steve) Schuchard of Rochester, and Patricia (Barry) Braun of Littleton, CO; one sister, Deanna Hahn of Rochester; four brothers, Clarence (Bernie) Dyreson of Rochester, Roger Dyreson of Preston, MN, David (Lois) Dyreson of Winona, MN, and Kenneth (Kaye) Dyreson of Junction City, KS. She is also survived by grandchildren, Michele Swift, Michael Beighley, Melissa Hoopman, Ryan Burton, and Tyler Burton; along with eight great-grandchildren, Devan, Paige and Nick Wanek, Andrew and Evan Hoopman, Jamie, Bryce, and Brayden Burton, and Bode Beighley.
Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved parents; Clarence and Leila Dyreson; her husband, Mylon K. Dornink; and her son, Scot A. Dornink, and son-in-law, Gordon Hammel.
A special thank you to St. Croix Hospice and Rochester Health Services East, and Philip and Jenny Elsen.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2018 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Servants Philip and Jenny Elsen officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.

she was a wonderful person, loved all, we lived as neighbors for a while in Rochester, later they were still friends who came to see us .her children and ours played to together also went to school together. they were a wonderful family, the 4- girls are a blessing to know. would love to see you girls again, ( I now live in Winona, - I'm listed in Winona phone book.you can use my e-mail also for more info.-Love to you all, will be praying for you at this difficult time.
My sincere sympathy to the Dornink family. I was a co worker of Joyce's for many years. She was such a cheerful and happy person inside and out. My prayers go out to you. After we both retired she would walk by my house on her daily walk and sometimes stop and we would visit. She always talked of her daughters and all the fun times you had together.
