Joseph Philip Dee

Joseph Philip Dee, 64, of Rochester, Minn., passed away on March 22, 2018 at Saint Marys Hospital under hospice care.

Joseph was born December 24, 1953 in Rochester to John and Helen (Cassidy) Dee. He graduated from Mayo High School in 1972. Following high school, he attended Pipestone Technical School in Pipestone and graduated in 1973 in Meat Cutting. He married Linda Plog on May 30, 1987 at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church. They lived in Racine, Minn for 22 years and moved back to the Rochester area eight years ago. He retired from IBM after 30 years of service.   

Joe enjoyed and collected antique cars and loved driving them. He enjoyed the outdoors and his cabin in Wisconsin. He was a member/president of the Racine Lions Club and member/president of the Hiawatha Antique Car Club. 

Joe is survived by his wife, Linda (Plog) Dee; daughter, Emily Dee of Rochester; son, Skyler Dee of Rochester; granddaughter, Jaylen Dee of Rochester; grandson, Dominic Dee of Rochester; three brothers, Mike (Pat) Dee of West Concord, Tim (Mary) Dee of Wabasha, and Jerry (Karen) Dee of Byron. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Linda Dee.

A memorial Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 at Resurrection Catholic Church with Father Peter Schuster officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at St. Bridget’s Cemetery in Simpson.

So sorry to hear about Joe. We were friends at Mayo High and later he bought my 34 Ford Coupe. Prayers and condolences to his family. 

So sorry for your loss.  My husband enjoyed working with Joe at IBM.  He had a lot of good times, a lot of good memories.
