Jon A. Weitzenkamp

Jon A. Weitzenkamp, 55, of Rockford, Iowa, formerly of Dodge Center, MN passed away at his home on November 1, 2010 after a brief battle with cancer.

Jon was born on February 17, 1955 in Zumbrota, MN to Dennis and Jean (Pettitt) Weitzenkamp.  He was currently employed as a mechanic at an implement dealer in Charles City, Iowa.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his dog.  Jon was also a proud United States Army veteran.

He is survived by his daughter Dana Weitzenkamp of Byron, his son Jon Jr. (Courtney) Weitzenkamp of Corpus Christi, Texas and three grandchildren; his parents Dennis and Jean of Dodge Center; four sisters Carol (Tom) Mahon of Rochester, Donna Ellison of Waverly, Iowa, Ruth (Jeff) Wendler of Dodge Center and Julie (Scott) French of Dodge Center; two brothers Dennis (LuAnn) Weitzenkamp of Plainfield, Iowa and David (Tonia) Weitzenkamp of West Concord.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Jon is preceded in death by his daughter Hieda, his niece Jodi, maternal and paternal grandparents.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Monday, November 8, 2010 at Faith Lutheran Church in Dodge Center with Pastor Justin Boeding officiating.  Friends and family may visit from 1:00pm until the time of the service on Monday.
