Condolences

The family of John Patrick O’Grady has received the following condolences.

At this time of sorrow, may you find comfort in your memories.

Dear Family of Pat O'Grady,

I live at Charter House but did not know Pat personally, but everyone told me what a wonderful man he was. I'm sorry for your loss.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Mr O'Grady when I served as a guardian for him on Honor Flight.  We kept in touch for a while after the flight; he met and approved of my fiance, but that may have been partially due to his Irish last name. :)  Mr O'Grady talked lovingly of his wife and was obviously a proud father and grandfather.  I met a lot of veterans through Honor Flight; Mr O'Grady was definitely one of my favorites.

Uncle Pat O'Grady was just a terrific individual and every inch a charming gentleman.  He was very kind to me and I've never forgotten him.  May he rest in peace,

Jolene

My condolences to John's family on his passing. I had the privilege of working with him at Metcalf Junior High School in Eagan, Minnesota, for a number of years when he was the assistant principal and I was a social studies teacher. I greatly admired his work ethic; his sense of humor; and his treatment of everyone with respect and fairness. He was one of the most effective people and one of the hardest working people I have known in my 45 years of being a teacher! He always took a personal interest in everyone he worked with. His career as a submarine commander made for interesting conversations that I found thoroughly enjoyable! He was a kind man with a twinkle in his eye and a warm heart who did his job to the best of his ability! Blessed be his memory!

I enjoyed talking with Uncle Pat when I visited him at Charter House.  He was always so kind and wise.  He lived life to the fullest.

Dear Kevin,

'Sorry to hear of Uncle Pat's passing.  'Have fond memories of when he and Aunt Betty would come to our farm for a visit.  'Thinking of you and your family at this sad time.

Our prayers are with you, all the way from Australia.

Love, Jane

My heart felt sympathy to Kevin and all Pat's loved ones. I have fond memories of uncle Pat and Aunt Betty and I'm sure you have many more. I miss those days when we would visit. Some day we'll go to heaven and there will be no more good byes. God bless you. Love Jean Rathke.  PS Do you remember me?  I am one of the twins. Jane is in Australia and I am living in IL
