John Jerome Dee
The funeral Mass for John J. Dee will be held at 11:00am Tuesday April 7, 2015 at Resurrection Catholic Church, Rochester. A visitation will be held Monday April 6, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the River Park Chapel of the Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday. Burial will take place at St Bridget’s Cemetery, Simpson.
Mr. Dee, 86 of Rochester, died Monday March 30, at his home of natural causes.
John was born May 22, 1928 in Rochester to Frank and Katherine Dee and was a graduate of Lourdes High School 1946.
On February 11, 1950 he married Helen Cassidy at St. Johns Catholic Church in Rochester and she survives him. He farmed his entire life, and in 1969 worked for the Rochester School System at Mayo High School retiring in 1989. For 26 years John and Helen wintered in Texas. They also enjoyed traveling the world over.
John enjoyed antique cars and John Deere tractors and meeting for morning coffee with his buddies. He was a lifelong Eagles Club member and avid sports fan following his children and grandchildren sporting events.
John is survived by his wife; a daughter Linda Dee of Rosemount; 4 sons; Mike (Pat) Dee of West Concord, Joseph (Linda) Dee of Rochester, Tim (Mary) Dee of Wabasha, and Jerry (Karen) Dee of Byron; 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandsons. A sister-in-law, Bernice Dee of Rochester also survives.
He is preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister.

I regret we never had our coffee at my home. I know John stopped a few times and I was not home.

I worked at Mayo Clinic With Helen Dee, and through her got to know John. As well, I was able to work with Pat Dee. John was a wonderful partner with Helen, and I treasure memories of him.

Sorry to hear the about the passing of John. I'll remember the stories and the good times and laughs we had! Going all the way back to my high school days at Mayo , where John worked with my uncle Wimpy......RIP Mr Dee
