John Earle Schuster

The Funeral Mass for John Earle Schuster will be on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 10:30am in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home.  Visitation will be on Thursday, 4:30pm – 6:00pm in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Schuster, 81, of Rochester, died on Monday, November 7, 2011 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.  He was born in Winona, MN on April 14, 1930.  On June 17, 1950 he married Elaine (Becky) Sobeck in Winona, MN.  Elaine passed away on November 8, 2010.

He served in the National Guard in 1948 and was activated to the regular Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Schuster was a professional musician for forty years.  Early in the musical career, he traveled the Midwestern states playing drums and singing with some of the leading modern territory bands.  He was in the men’s clothing business in Rochester and retired in 1988.  He also managed the first television rental service to hospitals and motels in the Rochester.

Survivors include two daughters, Sherry (Bernie) Pelinka and Joannie Schriever, a son, Steve (Dawn) Schuster, all of Rochester, five grandchildren and three great-granddaughters, one brother-in-law, Bob (June) Sobeck and a nephew, Tom (Kelly) Sobeck.  His wife Becky proceeded  him in death.
