The funeral for Joanne Marie Cassidy will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Rev. Mark C. McNea officiating. A visitation will be held Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Joanne died Saturday, December 28th at Samaritan Bethany on Eighth where she had resided for the last thirteen months.
Joanne was born to Lloyd and Esther Titus on August 27th 1931 in Austin, Minnesota. She graduated in 1949 from Pacelli High School. After graduation, she completed her training as a medical technician in Bismarck, North Dakota and went on to work in Ogden, Utah. She moved back to Rochester, MN in 1954 where she worked at the Mayo Clinic for several years until marrying Eugene Cassidy on June 6, 1959.
Joanne was actively involved in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church where she was president of the Parish Council as well as president of the Rosary Society. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, and traveling throughout the country with her husband. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene, her daughter, Kelly, her son Tim, her six grandchildren Jesse (Jada), Megan (Adam), Emily, Janna, Jacob, and Baily, and four great-grandchildren, Maddy, Noah, Lennon, and Palmer. Joanne is also survived by her sister, Mary (Jerry) Wilde, three brothers, Richard, Leonard (Charlotte) and Tom (Janet), and one sister in-law, Dorothy Fogarty.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Esther Titus, her sister-in-law, Irene Titus, brother-in-law Ralph Fogarty, and brother- and sister-in-law Bob and Evelyn Kearney.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to either the Samaritan Bethany Resident Activity Fund or St. Francis of Assisi Parish.
