JoAnn M. Hoiseth

The funeral Mass for JoAnn M Hoiseth will be at 10 AM Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the River Park Chapel, Macken Funeral Home in Rochester with the Rev. Paul Nelson officiating.  Burial will be in Chatfield Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation will be at one hour prior to the Mass.

JoAnn Hoiseth, 80, Rochester, MN formerly of Chatfield, died Monday (November 23, 2015) at  St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

JoAnn Marie Streiff was born November 19, 1935 in Rochester, MN to Howard and  Eleanor Streiff. She graduated from Lourdes High School in 1953. During her high school years she enjoyed being class treasurer, being a member of the National Honor Society, Glee Club, Eagle staff, and year book assistant editor.

On December 30, 1955 she married Donald “Dooley” J Hoiseth. They were married in Rochester and lived there many years and then relocated to Chatfield. JoAnn and Dooley were married for 54 years when Dooley passed away. JoAnn then moved back to Rochester after his death.

JoAnn retired from Mayo Clinic Labs working there for 35 years

JoAnn loved watching the Vikings and the Twins. She was one of their biggest fans. She loved going for rides looking for deer and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Michael (Maggie) of Davenport, IA, her three grandchildren, Andrea (Michael) Newton of Davenport, IA, Tom Hoiseth and Tim Hoiseth both of Cherry Grove.

She is proceeded in death by her parents Howard and Eleanor Strieff, brother Jack, her husband Dooley and their baby Thomas.

 

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Mike and family - we are so sorry to hear about JoAnn's passing but also know that Dooley has welcomed her with open arms.  We always appreciated a special friendship with JoAnn and Dooley and feel blessed to be neighbors for so many years.  God bless you and your family.   Time will help with healing.
