Condolences

The family of Joan R. “Joanie” Steins has received the following condolences.

Dear Steins family

I happened to be in Rochester and was surprised to see Joanie's obituary in the paper.  She and George lived next door to my mother in law, Ellen Johnson for several years in the apartment building on Park Point. She and George were wonderful friends to Ellen, and we will never forget all of her kind help and friendship. I like to imagine that they are having coffee together in heaven. God's peace and blessings to you all.

We will miss our dear friend too. It was always so kind of Joanie and George to visit us when they passed through Oregon and my sister and I were treated royally when we visited them in Duluth.  I remember Joanie and all the good times we had on Killarney. She was always there to share a laugh or to help when needed. What a kind heart and a special spirit. Our hearts go out to all the family, especially to George.  Joanie is gone from this earth but not forgotten.

Joanie was my dearest friend for many, many years. We Were neighbours in Vancouver, Canada and never lost touch. I will miss our phone calls , she was the nicest, kindest and most loyal friend.  Rest in peace dear Joanie and know I will miss you forever, my thoughts and prayers are with you George and your family.

Joanie will be so missed. Highlight of my every day at Madonna was getting a hug from her. Sending all my love to George and the family.

Joanie always had a smile on her face and a big hug and kiss when we she saw me. Joanie and George hold a special place in my heart. Thinking of her family during this difficult time.

Joanie will be missed by so many of her friends here at Madonna Towers/Madonna Living Community (MLC).  She truly was a friend to all and in meeting new friends.  Joanie had a great smile, very welcoming, always interested in you as a person.  I know I will miss her smile, her laugh, her words of encouragement.
