Grandpa was always the best! I'm going to miss his smile and hearing all of his stories, I will never forget all the memories of going to their house and running around in the yard, playing in the river behind the house staying the night and staying up late with grandma watching 'the golden girls', always eating peanut butter and fig newtons with grandpa. he truly was the best grandpa a little girl could ask for! you will be missed probably more than you'll ever know grandpa! I love you!

We are very sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. Back in the day we would have coffee at the truck stop often. He was a real gentleman and was always ready to laugh! Our prayers are with the family at this sad time.
Your family is in our prayers. There are no words to express how hard it is to lose a parent but I know how blessed you were to have him in your life. We are thinking of you. Deb and Rod
I remember stopping in Reads Landing to visit with Jerry and Allene with my Dad as a kid. Jerry always had a big smile on his face. So sorry to hear of his passing. Thoughts and prayers to Allene and the rest of his family<3
I was so found of this first cousin! Jerry was such a happy soul, he had the wit and the charm! My mom, Irene, thought the world of him since they did grow up together with Aunt Gen on Grandpa Kocer's farm outside of Rochester.
He was very kind to me and was always interested in what I was up to and how life was going! He will be missed but his spirit will live on and we send him off on happy travels to heaven to join his family!
Allene, Roger, Rene & Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at the passing of your Dear Husband & Father. What a gentle soul with a laugh that was 'one of a kind.' We will remember fondly our times at Reads Landing and the stories. Keep those many memories close to your hearts.
With Sincere Sympathy,
Jim & Gaylene Ryan
It was always fun going to the Harty house and having Jerry and Allene to dinner at mom and dads. Jerry loved my mom's fried chicken and apple pies. He always came out to do any electrical work for my folks. Jerry was always smiling and I have missed that the last couple of times I saw him. I love you all and now Jerry is back being himself and enjoying Charlotte's company again. Love you all and peace to you.

When I was a little kid, we were all outside at the Harty house, and he was showing us a daddy long legs
spider crawling up his arm. I thought he was the bravest man I ever knew! I never forgot that. He loved
nature and being outside and enjoyed fishing on the Mississippi where he and Allene spent many summers.
He would call me Minnie Minoso and had a laugh that was so fun. There are many fond memories of Jerry.
Charlie was waiting for her Dad with open arms, and now you all have another Guardian Angel watching over
you.
The Harty house was always a great place to be as a kid. I have great memories of Jerry and Allene, and all the Harty family. Jerry had a wonderful sense of humor and was a kind man. We will miss him very much.Allene, we love you very much!
God bless,
Greg, Keelyn, Calvin and Kyra Kanz
Dear Hartys--Jerry's smile is indelibly etched on family memories. My older siblings treasure the trips to South Dakota when he was still at home. At family reunions, everyone was glad to see him, as well as the rest of you! He was proud of all of you, and would probably enjoy the stories you're sharing now! Blessings to you all! You'll be a great source of comfort to Allene.
