Jeremey Carl Cummings

Jeremey Carl Cummings passed away from a tragic accident at his home in Rochester, Minnesota, on December 30th, 2020 at the age of 30 years old. Jeremey Cummings was born in Rochester, Minnesota on January 30th, 1990 to John Cummings and Julie Tudahl. Jeremey attended school in Rochester, where he graduated from Mayo High School in 2008.

After graduating from high school, Jeremey attended Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota where he graduated in May 2013 with a Bachelors of Exercise Science: Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation with a Minor in Nutrition. Jeremey interned at North Memorial Medical Center in Clinical Exercise Physiology from May 2013-September 2013. After interning, Jeremey started working at the University of Minnesota Health as a Rehab Technician in Ortho/Medical Surgery. He worked there from September 2015-May 2016. Jeremey also worked at Rakhma Memory Care Homes as a Nursing Assistant in Minnetonka, Minnesota from September 2015-May 2016. In 2016, Jeremey decided to go back to school to study nursing at the University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh. Jeremey completed the nursing program in a year and received his Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing on October 2017 where he graduated with the highest honors.

After completing his nursing degree, Jeremey became employed as a Registered Nurse at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota in November 2017. Jeremey worked as a nurse on the Cardiovascular Surgery and Transplant PCU floor on Mary Brigh 6D. Jeremey was a great nurse with a fun sense of humor. Jeremey’s patients and coworkers truly adored his fun and upbeat personality.

Jeremey had a love for gardening, fishing, riding his bike around town, watching the Minions movie series a million times, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. Jeremey’s best friend was his beloved dog Jordan (Jo Jo) who went everywhere with him. Jeremey was a soft hearted person who loved to spend time out in nature. He was always sending pictures to his family and friends of random frogs and turtles he was saving off of the bike paths so they didn’t get hurt or ran over. His gentle soul will be greatly missed.

Jeremey is survived by his parents John Cummings (Laurie Corkill) of Rochester, Minnesota, and Julie Tudahl of Rochester, Minnesota, two sisters, Tasha (Chris) Graham of Rochester, Minnesota and Chelsey Cummings of Rochester, Minnesota. Condolences

The family of Jeremey Carl Cummings has received the following condolences.

Jeremy’s smile gave us insight as to how big his heart was. He was a joy to visit with, his humor kept us laughing, and he was a great friend. He is greatly missed and will hold a spot forever in our hearts.

I want to offer my sincere condolences to all of Jeremey's family and friends.  I am sure I met Jeremey at the wedding of Chris and Tasha Graham in October of 2012 but I really didn't know him at all.  However, I feel like I know his spirit after reading his obituary.  It gave me a feeling of who he was, how committed he was to his family, and to his education.  And the respect that he earned from his employers and co-workers by excelling at his career in nursing is a glowing tribute to him.  I knew of him because I'm Chris's aunt and also because he was on the team of caring for my daughter's best friend from high school in Ohio.  She had a double lung transplant.  I know he is greatly missed and will be always by his loved ones.

Jeremey was an amazing friend and brother. He made everyone smile and laugh. One of the  most charismatic and intelligent person I know. He was always there for me. I am truly sorry it happened this way but I know he is happy. Jeremey will forever be in my heart. Much love you will be missed Jeremey!!!
