Janette V Dasvand-Amundson

The Funeral Mass for Janette Dasvand-Amundson will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, April 30. 2015 at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Rochester, MN with Fr LaVern Trocinski presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass on Thursday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.

Jan Davand-Amundson passed away Thursday April 23rd at St Mary’s in Rochester.

She was born in Palo Alto, CA and completed her undergraduate degree at Stanford University. She earned a JD from the University of Michigan, and an LLM from New York University. She was admitted to the bar in New York and California.

Jan leaves behind her beloved husband of 21 years, Ron Amundson and her dear cousin Corey Crowder. She enjoyed traveling the world and was multi-lingual. The city of Paris, France where she lived for a while held an especially fond space in her heart. She was a huge fan of the arts, both performing and visual.

Jan’s life revolved around Joshua 24:15b. “For me and my household, we shall serve the Lord”. She loved her faith community at Pax Christi and spent many hours per week in prayer at the adoration chapel. Over the years, she received 2 awards from the Salvation Army for her volunteer work during the bell ringing seasons.

Memorials may be sent to the Catholic Foundation of Southern Minnesota with funds earmarked for seminarian education, The Salvation Army, or the arts/education organization of your choice.

Macken Funeral Home is handling the arrangements and coordinating with Jack Funeral Home for the burial.

Condolences

The family of Janette V. Dasvand-Amundson has received the following condolences.

Ron,

So sorry for your loss.

I will always remember Jan and my discussions on the kitty-kats in our lives. She had a beautiful spirit.

Lois and I will keep you in our prayers.

Love you.

Pat and Lois

I am a former parishoner of Pax Christi, and was saddened to hear of your wife's passing. I remember her fondly; my daughters just loved to go and find her to chat for awhile after Mass each week.

Blessings to you.

Ron, if only I could have met her. However, to know you is to know she was pretty awesome. So sorry for your loss my friends; however, I do celebrate her life with you.  She will be forever in your heart, memories, and daily life from this point on. She is now truly a part of your soul.  My prayers of peace and comfort are with you.

Ron,

My deepest condolences on your loss. It is never easy to say goodbye especially to one who is the 'love of a life.' May God bless and keep you in this time of need and know that many are praying for you all around the world.

Pax

Fr. Ray McIntyre

I only knew Jan through her husband Ron and from the way she lived for Christ. I pray for comfort for all who knew her and that all will see the reflections of her love and know that she is in the presence of God.
