Janet Lou Dillon

Janet Lou Dillon, 84, of Rochester, went to be with her Lord after battling cancer on Monday, July 29th.

Janet was born June 24th, 1935 in Saint Paul, Minnesota to Frank and Stella (Peters) Schmidt.

Janet graduated from Rochester High School. She married Stanley Anderson, was later divorced, and then married John Dillon. She worked at Cub Foods for many years, retiring in 2014.

She is survived by two daughters, Carrie (Scott) Berg and Donna Anderson (Patrick) of Rochester; two sons, Ricky (Jenniefer) Anderson of Rochester and Randy (Carleen) Anderson of Zumbro Falls; two stepchildren, Jason (Jackie) Dillon of Rochester and Deb Schroeder of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Michael (Kirsten) Gurtner, Matthew (Tasha) Gurtner, Daniel (Kari) Gurtner, Kristie (Alex) Restrepo, Nikkilynn (Scott) Rud, Lee (Sarah) Anderson, Tyler (Keisha) Anderson, and Megan (AJ) Anderson; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Adele Roberts of Walker, MN; brother, Robert Schmidt of Florida. She was proceeded in death by both parents, both husbands, and two grandsons.

Janet was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church, Extension Group, and Welcome Wagon. She loved fishing, stock car races, riding horses, and visiting Florida. She sold Avon for 36 years and was a big supporter of the Salvation Army. Janet loved all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, always remembering birthdays.

The Memorial Service for Janet  will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 2nd, at Christ Lutheran Church in Rochester with Pastor Kurt Lehmkuhl officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church . Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
