Janet Ann Renaux – Rochester, Minnesota
Janet Ann Renaux, 70 of Rochester, MN, died Monday January 1, 2024, where she resided at Arbor Terrace at Samaritan Bethany.
Janet was born March 27, 1953, in Endicott New York to Ralph and Carol Whittemore. A few short years later, they moved to Rochester so Ralph could start his career at IBM. Janet graduated from John Marshall High School in 1971. Three years later, in 1973 she married her High School sweetheart, Richard Scott Christopherson at St. Lukes Episcopal Church. In 1976 their daughter Jamie was born and was their only child. Janet and Richard later divorced in 1983.
On July 3, 1991, Janet remarried William Richard Renaux at the courthouse in a very small ceremony. The couple lived in New Port Richey for 3 years before William fell ill and moved back to Rochester for medical treatment.
Janet worked several jobs before starting her career at Charter Communications. She loved her job and all the people she worked with.
Janet was a huge music lover. She enjoyed many concerts over the years, camping, going to the beach, but her number one love was her grandchildren. She saw all 3 of them come into this world. Even till the very end with Alzheimer’s, she knew them by name and wanted to hold them in her arms again.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Jamie Lyn Lambert (Matthew), her sister, Nancy Bennett (Larry) and her grandchildren, Sydney Christopherson – Howell, Maddox and Holland Christopherson.
She is preceded in death by her husband William Renaux, and her parents, Ralph and Carol Whittemore.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 11, 2024, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Fr. Nick Mezacappa officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Memorial Service.
Burial will take place at Oakwood East Cemetery in Rochester.
Condolences
The family of Janet A. Renaux has received the following condolences.
Sorry for the loss, myself and my Family are holding you all in our thoughts and prayers.
Hello Jamie,
I was very sad when I saw that your mom passed away.
I have known your mom for a long time. The pic that was chosen for the obituary was and will always be exactly as I remember her. She was so optimistic and fun to be with! I last saw her at Shorewood, it was so nice to visit with her.
I cannot make it to the service… but am thinking about you. My sympathies to you! ?
Jamie,
Janet is my sibling in all but name! We met when she was seven years old, and due to our parents' close friendship, we (along with her sister and my brother) were basically raised together. She was the most genuine, practical, and overall sunny person I've ever known. Her memory will be a great blessing to me, as it is to you and her wonderful grandchildren.
- “Your mother will forever remain in our hearts and memories”. Jamie your mother was an amazing person. We worked together at Micheal’s restaurant she was always happy. Rest in peace my friend.

I was very sad to hear of Janet's passing. She was fun to be around & I loved her laugh. Trika showed me the photos of you & your mom that you sent her. Very presious! My mom passed away on Jan. 1, 1973. It's a terrible way to start out the new year. Blessed be her memory.
I graduated from John Marshall high school with Janet and later work at the cable company with her. She was always upbeat and made everyone smile.
Janet will be missed.
