Condolences
The family of James Peter Rockers has received the following condolences.
Our sincere sympathy for your loss. A life well lived with loving family and friends can bring good memories and peace.
All our best; Bruce, Danelle, Gayle and Sarah Gahagan
I was so saddened to hear of Jim's death.I met him while playing in various basketball leagues, both at IBM (where our employment years overlapped) and in the Rochester city leagues. Eventually I was lucky enough to get on the same city league team as Jim, and from that point in time I was actually able to be on a winning team most of the time! A lot of that was because the big guy was there to control the lane and boards.
I have many fond memories through the ensuing years with Jim - the games were of course the reason to get together. But the times celebrating and commiserating after games really made those times memorable.A few beers and a deck of cards truly made some fun times - lots of wisdom dispensed over the years.
My deepest sympathies to you Patty, and condolences to the whole family. Jim will be missed. I am sorry I will miss the services due to a conflict.
Lee Sandstrom
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Jim. My condolences to Patty and the Rocker family. While I moved away from Rochester many years ago so only got to see Jim and my cousin Patty on those rare occasions when I visited the area. I remember Jim well from playing basketball first at Austin Pacelli and later when we both attended St Mary's college in Winona.
When our Lord calls our loved one home, He leaves us the gift of so many beautiful memories.
Patty and family,
Jim was the 2nd manager I worked for at IBM Austin. Jim took me into his department to work on the 5280 system processors when you folks transferred to Austin. I bought the lot next to Bob Wassink in the Lost River subdivision. Bob and Jim came over one day as I was putting up a fence next to Bob's place, they asked , "What is the fence for?".....I said "I am going to raise pigs..." you could hear a pin drop .....after a little delay and seeing the expression on their face I told them I was only kidding. Jim was one of the best guys I worked for in many ways!
Diana retired from IBM in 2010 and I did in 2013.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of loss,
Mike & Diana Hovatter
My sympathy to all the members of the Rochers family members. Back in the 1960s Jim was part of the basketball program at Pacelli High School in Austin, Minnesota. Jim was an outstanding basketball player and an excellent student. God Bless Him.
Dear Patty and Family,
My deepest condolences to you! My thoughts and prayers are with you in this most difficult time! With heartfelt sympathy, I am wishing you peace and comfort as you navigate this journey!
Sincerely,
Louise Cunningham

Patty and family, I was so sorry to see the passing of Jim in the paper. You have our deepest sympathy and hugs to you ? The heavens have gained a Beautiful Angel to watch over you.
Sorry to hear about Jim. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
My condolences to Jim's family, very sorry to hear of his passing. Jim was one of my first managers at IBM. I appreciated his integrity, professionalism, and the encouragement and coaching he gave me as a younger engineer.

Please accept my sympathies as it is with great sadness that I learned of Jim’s passing. I worked with Jim for many years at IBM and will always remember his work ethic, his dedication to detail and especially his no nonsense approach to obtain resolution to the challenges of the day. Jim brought a very special perspective to our day-to-day work activities.
Rest in peace Jim you will not be forgotten.
Patty, Kim and family:
I have no words to express how badly I feel for all of you. Even though our paths have not crossed for sometime my fond memories of the two of you have remained. We started as neighbors, then close friends, bowling buddies, card club friends, etc. We shared many things over the years. Kim and Jill played together as children. We were backdoor neighbors and often spontaneously visited one another. Please know I will hold you up in my thoughts and prayers. Love to all.
Patty, I am so sorry to hear the news about Jim. I so liked working with him, and playing golf with him. Great memories with him and Winnie. My thoughts and prayers are with you all through this trying time.
