James Arthur Condon

James Arthur Condon, 78, of Rochester, MN died Thursday, July 23, 2020 peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

James was born October 28, 1941 in Rochester, MN to Russell and Wyneta (Eggers) Condon. On October 15, 1966, he married Linda M. Vagt at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Rochester. After living a short time in Brownsdale, MN, James and Linda enjoyed the rest of their lives living in Rochester.

James worked the better part of his life working in the family business, Vagt’s Hauling Service. More recently he worked as a cab and shuttle bus driver.

James loved camping, fishing, bowling, his grandkids, and any event in which his boys and their families were able to gather.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Tony (Margi), Mark (Tammy), Kevin (Jennie) of Rochester, Chad (Heather) of Nicollet; and 9 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

A memorial gathering for James will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2020 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, MN. There will be a prayer service beginning at 12:45p.m. in the gathering space. The burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens after the memorial gathering.

My dear friend, I am so sorry to hear this news. I know how much you two loved each other. He was such a good husband and father to his boys.  He has left you with a strong loving support group.  You gave him a life of fun and love.  Your in my thoughts and prayers. 

Don and I were so sorry to hear about Jim's death.  We remember all the good times we had as your kids and ours were growing up as neighbors in SE Rochester.  We will be be praying for you and your family and asking God to comfort you all during this extremely difficult time in your lives.
