The Memorial Mass for Jack W. Donahue will be at 10:30amWednesday, February 15, at St. Francis Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark C. McNea officiating. Burial of ashes will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Mr. Donahue, 94, of Rochester, MN passed away on February 12, 2012 at Seasons Hospice.
Jack W. Donahue was born in Kindersley, Saskatchewan, Canada on November 11, 1917 to his American citizen parents, Elsa and James Donahue. He attended school in Devils Lake, ND and Crary, ND. Jack took courses from Purdue University. He married Georgia Robinson in Yakima, WA, in 1941.
Jack took flying lessons and soloed in 1946. He and his wife owned and operated a residential grocery store in Yakima, WA. He lived in Devils Lake for several years before moving to Rochester in 1957. Jack worked as a Manager in Southern Minnesota for Lystads Chemical Co. and Western Chemical Co. of St. Joseph, MO. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church for 54 years.
Jack enjoyed traveling, golfing, hunting and his family and friends. Jack is survived by his wife of 70 years, his two sons, Bill and Pat and one daughter Pamela Persons. He is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

To the Donahue family, my heartfelt condolences on the loss of Jack. What a great guy. Lord knows Pat and I provided plenty of entertainment for him during our teen years. He was always patient and fair. My fondest memory is him asking "What are you two icky kids up to?". Every time I'm back in Rochester, I pass by the pink house and it brings me right back. Gob bless you all in this time of sorry. Celebrate the wonderful life of your husband, father and friend.
