Isadore “Izzy” Tlougan
The funeral for Isadore Paul Tlougan will be on Monday, March 21, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Byron Christ The King Catholic Church, with Pastor Paul Surprenant. Burial will be at the Byron Cemetery in Byron, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. (7:30-8 prayer service) on Sunday, March 20, 2011, at Byron Christ The King Catholic Church and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday, March 21, 2011.
Izzy, 82, of Byron, Minnesota, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at his residence. He passed away peacefully with his wife and family at his side.
Isadore was born on October 31, 1928, in Dover, Minnesota, to Alfred and Florence Tlougan. He attended Dover School. On February 25, 1952, he married his sweetheart, Marlin Schacht, at the Little Brown Church in Decorah, Iowa, of 59 years.
The couple lived in Rochester, Minnesota, for a short time, and he worked as a carpenter for two years. Then, at that time, the couple farmed in the Byron area.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Marlin; three daughters, Debbie (Lyle, “Don”) Allen of Dodge Center, Minnesota; Lynn (Steven, “Toby”) Walker of Zumbro Falls, Minnesota; Rhonda (Shawn) Hegna of Kasson, Minnesota; a son, Steven (Heather) Tlougan of Byron, Minnesota. Izzy had 12 grandchildren (Lisa, Donnie, Mike, Amy, Brian, Eric, Crissy, Elle, Matt, Michael, Dylon, Marissa) and 6 great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his son, Jeff, his parents, seven brothers, and one sister.
Everyone knew “Izzy” as a true John Deere fan, and he will be truly missed. His heart and soul was into his farming and spending quality time with his beloved wife and children/grandchildren. He also enjoyed nice drives and going to the casinos with his wife, Marlin. Izzy enjoyed the wildlife and the scenery on his property along with hunting.
