Hubert Hartford Anderson

Hubert Hartford Anderson, 88, of Rochester, MN, died Sunday, April 11th, 2021 at his home.

Hubert was born January 2, 1933 in Thompson, IA to Selmer and Tillie (Wooge) Anderson on their family farm. He completed school in Mantorville, MN. At the age of 12, his mother passed away and he went to live with his sister, Ruby, in Mantorville, MN, where he completed school and worked on their family farm. He then lived with his sister, Charlotte, in Grand Meadow, MN, and worked as a gas station attendant. After that, he moved to Chippewa Falls, WI and lived with his sister, Martha, and worked at a shoe factory. Hubert then moved to Milwaukee, WI where he lived with his father, Selmer, and was a boiler worker until he was drafted into the army.

He served in the Korean War and was stationed in Japan before ending his service in Kansas.

He married Nancy Louann Brandt on June 9th, 1957 at East St. Olaf Church of Rock Dell.

He worked for Marigold Dairy and Kemp Dairy in Rochester until his retirement.

After retirement, Hubert and Nancy traveled, camped with many friends, and wintered in Texas for several years. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Rochester, one brother, Wilford of Chippewa Falls, WI, his son, Mark (Cindy) Anderson of Prairie du Sac, WI, and his daughter Lisa (Tim) Smith of Mazeppa, MN. Condolences

The family of Hubert Hartford Anderson has received the following condolences.

Nancy,

so very sorry for your loss.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Nancy and family,

So sorry for your loss.  Rollie and I have many fond memories from our past adventures from bank holiday parties, picnics and other get togethers shared with you and Hubert.  We will hold those memories close to our hearts.  Take care.

So many fond memories of Hubert.  Picnics at Parkside on Marion Road, New Years’ Eve celebration when he made home-made ice cream in their electric freezer and when it came time to serve, found out he’d forgotten to put the ‘paddle in.”  Hubert’s big smile, and love for his family, friends, camping buddies and anybody else fortunate enough to know this, kind, good-hearted man will be sorely missed.  Our deepest sympathy, love and prayers to you, Nancy, Mark (Cindy), Lisa (Tim) and Wilford.
