The Funeral Service for Helen M. Teske will be at 11:00am Friday, April 1, 2016 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Bauch officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester. A visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, March 31, 2016 in the River Park Chapel and one hour before the service on Friday.
Mrs. Teske, 90, of Rochester, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Samaritan Bethany Home in Rochester.
Helen was born January 27, 1926 in Magnolia, Iowa to Orval and Lola (Evers) Girton. In 1939 her family moved to Grand Meadow, MN.
She graduated from Grand Meadow High School in 1943. On October 17, 1947 Helen married Lawrence “Buzz” Teske at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Buzz passed away on December 1, 1991. Helen was the owner of a beauty shop for several years and in her later years she worked for the Kahler Hotel at different shops in the subway.
Helen was a member of Peace Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the VFW. She enjoyed playing pool, traveling, dining out, and spending time with family and friends. Helen was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her two sons; Terry (Christine) Teske of Morton, Illinois; Dennis Teske of Rochester; her grandchildren; Christopher Teske, Laura (Jason) Bowers, Aaron Teske, Troy (Jennifer) Teske, and Jeni Holmvig; great grandchildren; Tyler, Danika, Hailey, Ella, Mason, Elise, Madison, Sydnie, James, Sienna, and Lawson; three step grandchildren; Donovan, Richard, and Randy as well as her long time companion, Howard “Woody” Wood of Rochester also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents Orval and Lola, husband Buzz, daughter-in-law Sharon, brothers Dale and Paul, and brother-in-law Marvin.

My thoughts and prayers are with Helen's family and friends. She was a very special person to my Grandpa and my family! She made my Grandpa smile and act like a young school boy and that made all of us that love him dearly so happy! She was like a Grandma to me and she will truly be missed! Love you Helen!

Aunt Helen was such a special person. She was fun, generous with her time, caring, and loved her family. She always had a great story to share with me.When I had time to come visit Rochester she always made me feel welcomed, always have snicker doodles on hand. God bless my Aunt Helen.
