Grace Kalis

Grace Ruth Kalis, age 86 passed away peacefully on May 10, 2016 at Cottagewood Senior Community in Rochester.
Grace was born on October 17, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Henry and Lydia (Jores) Kalis. Following high school she worked for Sears Roebuck of Milwaukee. After moving to Rochester, she worked as a Fuller Brush Saleswoman and at General Nutrition Center. Grace never married but the love of her life was her faith in Jesus Christ, doing daycare, writing Christian music, and woodworking. A special thank-you is extended to her caregivers at Golden Living West, Cottagewood, and Mayo Hospice.

She is survived by a Sister Esther Kwiatkowski of Noblesville, IN, her three nieces, Dr. Linda Kwiatkowski, Susan Featherstone and Mikale Kwiatkowski and her nephew Jonathan Kalis.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother John, and her Nephew James P. Kalis.

The Funeral Service for Grace will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 7:00pm in the original Macken Funeral Home Chapel in Rochester. Visitation will be held 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be at a later date.

Condolences

The family of Grace Kalis has received the following condolences.

Grace was a musician (marimba), a woodworker, a songwriter and poet, a singer, a babysitter, a hard worker and good salesperson, a loving daughter, a person of great faith, a wonderful employee and good friend.  Hers was a kind and happy spirit and heart.   There was an innocence about her.  She was protected by her guardian angels. The world is missing a wonderful person.  We are sad for the loss but enriched by our experience of Grace.

Nancy and I and the whole world will miss Grace's joyfull and happy spirit.  Grace was a faithful and loyal friend.  

I allways enjoyed being around Grace  and working for her.Our great conversations about religion and her firm belief in our Lord. She will be missed
