The funeral service for Gertrude C. Jensen will be at 1:30 PM Friday, October 19, 2012 in River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at River Park Chapel.
Mrs. Jensen, 95, a life-long resident of Rochester, died Tuesday, October 16th at Samaritan Bethany Home on Eighth.
Gertrude was born July 23, 1917 in Rochester to John & Julia (Tuohy) Delaney. On July 16, 1939 she married Edgar E. Jensen in Rochester. Edgar Jensen was founder and owner of Jensen Realty Company in Rochester Edgar died on June 9, 1982. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Gertrude was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved traveling, fishing and meals at Michael’s Restaurant.
Gertrude is survived by two daughters, Joann (John) Fischer, and Phyllis Jensen, both of Rochester; 5 grandchildren, Jim (JoAnne) Fischer of Lexington, MN, Jodie (Bill) Lawson of Stow, OH, Joseph (Shari) Fischer of Rochester, Barbara Warden of Plymouth, MN and Michael (Christine) Warden of Shoreview, MN; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Lucille (Ralph) Martin of Anaheim, CA. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Patrick, Timothy, Walter, Leo and Francis Delaney; and three sisters, Mary Podein, Ann Gehrke and Elnora Hain.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Samaritan Bethany Heights and Samaritan Bethany Eighth for the care she received while a resident

Dear Joann & Phylllis - I was just heartbroken when Mom told me Aunt Gertie passed away. All of us here in California are thinking of you both and wish we could be there tomorrow. We will be thinking of you and send our love. I have many fond memories of Aunt Gert and she will forever be in my heart. We love you.
