Condolences
The family of Gerald “Jerry” F. Lehnherr has received the following condolences.
Holding your family in our hearts with love and prayers to all.
I think Uncle Jerry was the best man I have ever known.
I still have the little cabinet he built for me so long ago – and it is important to my quilting studio, as the place where all things migrate to. I know he worked hard in his youth to help support your family, with a variety of paper routes and other jobs. When he went in the military I know he sent checks back to Grandma B.
When I was about seventeen and on the verge of getting into lots of trouble he sat me down and said, "You better not do anything that would ever shame your grandma!" and I often thought of that again in the next forty years (although I did not always live up to it).
I so much appreciate all that he did after my dad died, and to hear his laugh was to hear my father again. I know he made sure my half-sister, Jerri, had connections to the family even though Dad was gone.
I think there are lots more birds in the world because of all the birdhouses and bathouses he built (there's still one on my old house). His trips to the clinic in Mississippi kept people alive. His visits to Korea made that a better place I am sure, as he – honorable man that he was – more than made up for the time he spent there in the military. I remember going to visit Grandpa B. and Uncle Jerry was often there, helping in so many ways. I was told that after Grandpa B. went to assisted living Uncle Jerry would go to Mass in the morning, then visit Grandpa B. A good husband, and a great father, were what he aspired to, and I think he succeeded.
We were all blessed to have known him. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Sending big hugs your way at this time. Jerry was quite a man. I remember when he finished the dining room and then Jean made her table cloth embroidered with everyones names. He was a gentle soul unless of course the cat ate the Thanksgiving Turkey.
